Found this place whilst scrolling the Internet for a chip shop nearby. The reviews said the best in the area so decided to give it a go and we were not disappointed. A queue out the door either means slow service or great food and it proved to be the latter. Fish n chips, battered haggis and smokie were all well received and enjoyed.

The \\\"Best Fish n Chips\\\" in Carlisle, always fresh and delicious with lots of choice of other food if you don't eat fish, the staff are super friendly and its a great atmosphere which is good as there is usually a queue so a sure sign Fontana's is good and speaks for itself ?
