Underwhelmed with the starters....we had halloumi fingers and ribs,halloumi was OK, nothing special , ribs were a joke..basically3 bones with very little meat...for £8 ,felt very disgruntled ..Mains was OK...GF pizza ..not great just OK.. Lovely old building right in the centre, with super friendly staff! The whole place has been refurbished with a lot of love and care - the toilets are brilliant with the old taps and mirrors! A lot of thought has clearly gone into it and you can read all about the history on the table menus. We only had coffees but the festive food menu had me drooling and we will most definitely be back for food in the future! Added bonus is that it is dog friendly!

We were sat upstairs and were very cold. I’ve noticed several reviews comment about the cold but sadly, I chose to ignore them. The food is ok but even for the Lakes, the prices are high. It’s nice enough everyday grub but not worth these prices. Twice we had to return the baked Camembert, which stayed as a solid cheese which couldn’t be “dipped” into and the soup was tasty but only tepid. This is a chef issue not a staffing or management issue and is very basic stuff....read full review
