We haven't been in the Beehive for many a year. Penrith seems to be a place where its hard to find a decent pub to eat out in. This is a little gem though. Nice atmosphere and the food was lovely. Just good honest pub grub. We will be back.
We came upon this pub whilst doing a walk on what was a really horrible wet day. When we arrived we were soaking and couldn’t have had a warmer welcome. Four of us shared various food off the menu. The service was great, the menu choice and food itself were excellent and very good value for money. The fire was on, so lovely and warm inside. We would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Great service and a nice chilled atmosphere. Some of the food was excellent like the halloumi and the onion rings, but some left me feeling a bit stung by the price tag.I ordered a Crispy Chicken Burger and it was literally just a crispy chicken fillet on a dry bun. No sauce or salad. It would be different if it was 'cheap and cheerful' - but the food is not cheap considering the low standard.
