We were on the way back to Ashbourne and by chance stopped at the Coach and Horses as we were starving and did not find any decent places in Ashbourne. What luck. Super cool local pub, lots of atmosphere and the operators were pleasant. A little overworked looking staff however I put this down to passion. My wife & I had a lovely 2 night stay at The Coach & Horses. It was early February & pretty quiet but we were well looked after. The room/chalet was exceptionally clean,warm & comfortable. Whilst the complex is slightly dated it would in my opinion be ideal for young families as there are family room & quite a large play area. Nice town pub, with very well prepared and presented food, good variety including options for vegetarians. The Goat’s cheese on flat bread was tasty, the salad very fresh and the home style chips delicious. Nice ale too, recommend after a jaunt in the Peak District!
