Town Hall Pl, Bovey Tracey, Newton AbbotGood pub with fantastic beer garden: simply the best pub garden I've ever been in. The garden is reasonably big, with lots of seating and sun/shade options but the stand-out feature is the range, diversity and quality of the planting - which makes the atmosphere so comfortable and interesting. I spotted Crocosmia Lucifer, Hydrangea Paniculata Limelight, Dahlia Bishop Landaff (and at least 5 other dahlias), lilies, acers, Aggapanthas, hostas in full flower, grapevines and tons more; such an unexpected treat.
Very dog friendly, staff made a big fuss of our Border Terrier.
4 real ales on tap; Yellowhammer Ale well-kept.

The Palk Arms
Hennock, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot4 dogs and 4 adults all sat at the back of the garden on a Friday night. First day of my holiday staying at Greatrock farm up the road. What a great way to start the week. The food was delicious. The chef was very friendly. The bar staff and waitresses were so polite and quick to check that everything was ok. The view from the back of the garden was just beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this lovely place and its location and hope I can go again… I know my parents will- who live in Chudleigh and hadn’t been there before!

Home Farm Café
Parke, Bovey Tracey, Newton AbbotReally lovely cafe with a large outdoor seating area. The food menu is varied and offers some unusual dishes. Coffee and cakes are also excellent. It was busy on a sunny day in August but our order came quickly.

Brookside Café & Restaurant
9 Station Rd, Bovey Tracey, Newton AbbotFabulous stop off on our way back to midlands. Has its own carpark, which was great for our motorbike/sidecar with all our kit on. Service was prompt and engaging - good menu choices and a few extra lunchtime specials. My husband reliably informs me that the apple crumble and custard was one of the best ?
Definately on our radar when we're passing that way again.
