“Excellent food, couldn't fault the quality, portion size or price. Would highly recommend!Must be said though that the large family who decided to come in, take over the whole room, complain about everything and let their dogs rome freely through the restaurant put a dampener on things. Would have stayed for dessert but these people made us want to leave as quickly as possible. Felt sorry for the owners and staff having to deal with them.”

“Lovely little pub to stumble across before dinner. Gentleman behind the bar must be ex-forces, but couldn’t be more polite. Perhaps the most politest barman I’ve ever come across. Had a pint of Eric, local brew from Clearwater. Excellent. Enemy has a wine and she seemed happy, if nothing else, I wasn’t getting nagged. In fact we came back to see the night out. Good local history, dotted all around the pub. Very much splendid local feel to the vibe.”

“Had a lovely meal here with the family. Food was superb, and the staff were absolutely lovely. The lady behind the bar was lovely & chatty, and the chef was very accomodating. All the locals that were in were also really friendly. Very nice, traditional, family friendly pub. Would come back anytime, and would definitely recommend.Vegetarian options: Lots of variety on the menu.Kid-friendliness: They made lots of accomodations for our children, and were really kind.”

“The service and quality of the food served was great and good value for money. The meal came with a good selection of vegetables. We liked the fact that you also offered a mini-dessert and coffee option, which was just right for us.We think the venue could be improved by having better lighting, particularly outside the building as we found it difficult to see the entrance to the car park and once in the car park it was then difficult to find the entrance to the building.”

“Very comfortable room/bathroom. Hotel is on the main high street so was quite noisy.The owner made us very welcome and we ate in the pub (free desserts on Friday). The portions were huge and the food was delicious. Live music in the bar on Friday evenings which finished at 11pm.Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice of selections.”

“Booked for Sunday lunch and arrived an hour early expecting to have to wait however, they managed to fit us in early. The service was excellent and the Sunday roast cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend.”
