First of all - we're probably not the only ones to be misled after searching for hotels in Ivybridge: the Anchor is in Ugborough, not Ivybridge! But it's a friendly and comfortable pub with nice rooms above. Clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were good.
Really nice pub that was quiet when we arrived at 5.00pm. The barmaid said that the restaurant was opening at 6 pm, so we decided to stay and have a couple of drinks. The barmaid told us there was limited beer on tap as she was waiting for a local customer to turn up to help her lift some barrels in the cellar. Sheltered here from dreadful sleety rain while waiting to view a rental property. Log fire, comfortable room with friendly staff and good beer. Should this become my local, I would count myself lucky.
