The Fountain Inn

We had Mother’s Day lunch at the Fountain and it was DELICIOUS!! It’s not the first time we’ve had a great meal here but it was the first time we had their roast. I had the roast lamb (as recommended) and my husband and mother-in-law had the roast turkey. Both dishes had THE most tender meat that we have had during a Sunday pub lunch in an extremely long time, not only that, both dishes were under £20!! For an exceptional roast, in Sussex, that’s a great deal. My children asked to try my rump of lamb and they were mesmerised. They both said that they would have the child’s portion next time. My husband shared the roast turkey with his mum and they were happy to oblige. She is elderly and has a hard time with meat but she happily finished her meal. That meant a lot to us, that she could enjoy the food and meal. I was extremely full after my meal but my mother-in-law had the sticky toffee pudding which she enjoyed very much.
There are board games to play whilst you’re waiting for your meal, they’re dog friendly and there are beautiful fields behind the pub to work the food off. During the colder months there is a very inviting, cosy fire to sit beside. The staff are extremely welcoming, it’s a wonderful and friendly local pub. A real gem.
