Great traditional 'wet' pub with great beers and wine. Lively bar and a satisfying wood fire. Bar snacks (heffty pork pies). Large beer garden. It's definitely my kind of pub.
Such a lovely, historic spot a stones throw from the cute shops of Rye. There's a fantastic selection of beers and non-alcoholic options including lots of local brews. The space is full of cosy, warm corners to settle down in. When the weather is nice they also have a big beer garden across the way with some lovely views of the town. Well worth a visit.Kid-friendliness: Lots of outdoor space for kids and dogs.Wheelchair accessibility: Doesn't seem very accessible.

This was my favourite pub that we visited in Rye, with an excellent beer selection that is varied enough to suit most tastes (I may or may not have tried almost all of the ones on offer over the course of 3 visits.) Dark and atmospheric, we found it to be a great place to hide away on a wet and windy afternoon / evening.
