Went for a New Year's Eva walk around the Point Clear peninsula, as we were staying in St. Osyth. The Ferry Boat was at the half way point and we were very lucky as everything else was shut.It was all geared up for what I hope was a brilliant NYE party (free entry), but we were there at 2pm-ish so didn't stay for the party.Big place, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, pool and snooker tables, kids coin-op amusements grabbers etc.I believe it's now closed for the off-season.

Found this pub as was staying at the caravan park, it looks a bit run down but decided to go in for a quick pint, low and behold they've got 2 pool tables and a snooker table only £5 for an hour of snooker, that's 1990s prices, got a round of drinks and a game of snooker for £13. Bargain. Some of the reviews on here must think they are walking into a city chain pub. It's a good old fashioned spit and sawdust, good old English pub. They don't make pubs like this anymore. Made very welcome by all the staff. Guinness was of a very high standard, chilled just right. Had two meals here, although mainly only burgers and chips they were without doubt the best you can find. Icecream to die for. Will certainly return again and would highly recommend.
