Lovely little pub on the river. We visited for a Sunday roast - reasonable price for a huge portion and good food. Admittedly, it wasn't the best roast meat I've had (I had beef, husband had lamb - the lamb was definitely nicer!) but would still definitely visit for a roast dinner and to try their ordinary dinner menu.Also dog friendly which is a massive bonus for us!
Despite living in the village for many decades we had never had lunch in The Railway Tavern. The roast beef was superb and my husband had the meat pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. This was one of the best sunday roasts we have had in a long time, especially the roast potatoes. Portion sizes were very good. We were very well looked after by a lovely young girl Megan who was really friendly and kind. I'm sure we will be back.
