Pub itself is excellent for inside and outside dining and drinks with large garden space and ample seating. They were setting up tables for a party later in the evening. Open for daytime drinks on Tuesdays and Fridays during the week and very cheerful staff on arrival around 1:30pm. Dogs allowed inside and out. Three real ales on tap. Absolutely superb Sunday roast.One of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time (don't tell my Mother), beautiful beef, perfectly sliced and packed full of beefy flavour. Plus it’s not a carvery, so you’re not being served overcooked, dried out piles of vegetables, and even came with an extra jug of gravy - perfect. Service was excellent (as always) and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.

We ocassionally stay in Cheltenham for crat markets and pop into The Hewlett for a pint. We booked a table last night as we also wanted food and it was excellent. A tapas type starter of holumi chips with a chilli jam and, some fried mushrooms with aoli. This was followed by slow cooked brisket with mash - absolutely delicious.
