71 Newerne St, LydneyLovely food, great service and arrived very fast. The food had lots of flavour and tasted fresh. Also it wasn’t greasy like some others I have had. All in all very happy (only lost a star as we wasn’t that keen on one dish, however this dish was still good, just needed a little more flavour). Like I said, all in all very pleased. ???

Pet Friendly Places
The Rising Sun
Woolaston Common, LydneyMe and my boyfriend came here last night the food and the people were lovely. I rarely finish my plates of food and I even managed to eat all my gammon and have a pudding here ? the portions were very generous and it was a great atmosphere. Thank you!

The Swan Hotel
Newerne St, LydneyWe really enjoyed our night at the Swan, a really lovely warm welcome from Chris, who was very attentive, sharing local knowledge.
The room was spotless and comfortable and the breakfast excellent.
The only disappointment was that the restaurant wasn't open (Monday). Fortunately we were directed to a lovely Italian restaurant a couple of minutes walk.

White Cross Rd, LydneyConcept: My latest non-working weekday was on 09/06 when I returned from holidays in Cyprus. I needed urgently a short break. I asked leave on 15/08, did my weekly shopping, cooked spaghetti, and had some rest. On 16/08, I woke up early with positive mood to visit Lydney. I left Newport at 10:11 and arrived in Lydney at 11:30. I walked to the town centre. Before starting taking photos the amazing landscapes, I needed breakfast and coffee.
Timing of visit: Saturday 16/08, 12:05-12:40.
Order: A cappuccino, a tomato/cheese/onion toastie and a Victoria sponge cake.
Price: £13.75.
Quality of coffee: Excellent (7*).
Quality of toastie: It was so so so so ... good (8*).
Quality of cake: Perfect (7*).
Method of payment: Debit card.
Staff: Welcoming, attentive, enthusiastic (7*).
Service: Good (6*).
Atmosphere: I stayed in a table outdoors and it was great (7*).

Naas Ln, LydneyNever been in a pub that had made me feel so welcome. Keep doing what you are doing amazing prices cheapest around lydney would recommend for anyone who want to ha e a chilled drink or even enjoy a dance with friends. Inspirations, Coco & Bliss Rear of, 1 Hill St, LydneyPopped in a few times with my 2 girls, staff have always been friendly and food has always been amazing! It's obvious all the employees here work very hard. I can also confirm the school cake Blondie is THE ONE! Sadly I only brought home one and it was like a game of hungry hippos to bag the goods so caused quite a stir at home! ? next time I will do better and bring home more! Thank you

Frydays Chip Shop
High Beech Rd, Bream, LydneyMy family and I came to the local area on a weeks holiday and went to Frydays.
Wow, we ordered Cod and Chips with curry sauce, absolutely amazing.
Asked for directions to a local Off Licence and the helpful staff literally walked us through the directions.
Lovely small venue with maximum talent of running a local chippy.
Glad that we experienced the service and food.
Just a FYI that we are not local and travelled from Windsor for a week away.

Lydney Harbour Cafe
Unit 136, Lydney Industrial Estate, Harbour Rd, LydneyWe visited the Harbour today and obviously it was absolutely boiling hot. It was very busy with many people likely to buy food from the cafe. There was absolutely no shade whatsoever so people with young children couldn't stay and sit in the full sun. I went in to use the toilets and saw to my astonishment some very large green table umbrellas rolled up unused. I think on the hottest day of the year the umbrellas would have been very useful and helpful, more customers would have stayed and the cafe would have made more profit.

13A High St, LydneyCame here this morning for breakfast while staying in local motel. 4 of us in total. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed so our small Cocker Spaniel had
to stay in the car opposite in the square. Friendly attentive member of staff took our order and our food was soon presented to us at our table. Our breakfast was freshly prepared, very well presented & very tasty. Although parking isn't the best, they are well worth visiting to start the day off. Would definitely go again!!!

4-5, Regent Walk, Regents Walk, Newerne St, LydneyA lovely little coffee shop. We had a fabulous Brie & cranberry panini with a fresh, crispy side salad & a little jug of dressing.....just yummy.
The coffee/tea is always fab too.
Their array of cakes look amazing.
The service is always wonderful & the staff are super friendly.
It's a little bit tucked away but I recommend you find it. ?

The Fountain Inn
Fountain Way, Parkend, LydneyWent in for dinner, saw their menu online and thought it was a lot more interesting than other similar types of pubs. All the tables were reserved on a weekday evening in the summer holidays so would definitely recommend booking in advance (especially if you have a dog like us). The staff were all very very lovely and the food came quickly, the beef on the braised beef was slightly dry and the one of us who had the burger didn’t really enjoy it. But felt generally like good value for money and the other 2 of us enjoyed our meals greatly.

The Ugly Duckling
3 Swan Rd, LydneyWe went for a date night which meant we were massively overdressed for the environment as it is essentially a pub instead of a restaurant.
That aside the food was amazing, and the lady that was serving us couldn't be more kind, lovely and accommodating. My partner had a couple of dietary requirements so the hostess and the kitchen were going truly out of their way to not only accommodate, but even create dishes to provide a substantial choice. We had an amazing night and are so grateful for being so spoilt.
