My son and I, on business, were staying in a rather soulless hotel and so had a search of the web to see what else might be around for a couple of beers and a bite to eat. We weren't looking for fine dining, just something nice and more convivial surroundings. So we booked a table and rocked up. Interesting pub on the edge of Basingstoke town centre. Initially when I walked in I thought I'd made a mistake & pub didn't sell any cask beers!However I'm glad to report although not immediately obvious the pub sells at least three cask but situated on the tiny back bar! Two beers tried & very drinkable. The pub is multiple roomed around a central long bar which carries a good range of drinksIt was warm comfortable & sells food.( Check times available).

Great food, friendly staff. Unfortunately quite empty when I visited but it was a Monday night so that's to be expectedVegetarian options: Vegan burger is great and the salt and chilli chips are spot on.
