We stopped for lunch from our walk of the local area to find a remote village pub in a picturesque setting. Once through the entrance you are met with a small central bar surrounded on three sides by two seating areas and a games room. A very pleasant layout. Three cask ales on offer, the first sampled was not good and quickly returned and exchanged for one of the other ales which I'm happy to say was excellent. As good as always. The mussels were lovely to start with but the sea bass was sublime. A generous portion and beautifully cooked with lovely fondant potatoes and extra fries ... yum ... sadly the cheeseboard wasn't available.

Friendly welcome and good service. Only criticism is a few of the menu items were unavailable and on a small menu, this really did limit choice. I would say the food is no frills pub grub.
