The Lord Raglan
35 Queen St, EmsworthI'm not a big drinker and don't go to a pub very often,so before today I'd never been in The Lord Raglan in Emsworth before. My daughter and s-I-l booked it for my Mother's Day lunch and we duly turned up.We liked the lively atmosphere when we walked in, and we had our name on a chalkboard on the table. Warm greetings from the staff then drinks came fast after ordering. Dinner was simply a choice of 3 roasts and a vegetarian option, complete with steamed vegetables and loads of trimmings included.I was staggered to be told I could have the beef 3 ways - rare medium or well done. Chicken would be boneless breast meat, and the gammon would be thick sliced and succulent. Between the five of us we had all of them. For those who can't make their minds up, there is even a choice of all three on the one plate! Our meals came quickly, plates laden with lots of well cooked roast potatoes and parsnip, a huge chunk of stuffing, an enormous Yorkshire, carrots, and a swede mash. As if that wasn't enough, 2 large side dishes of broccoli, cauliflower and French beans between 5 of us were brought out as well! We had ordered a portion of extra roast potatoes, not knowing how large the portions would be, which we struggled gallantly with but it beat us.The staff checked on us for drinks a couple of times and were bright and chatty.I can honestly say I was more than pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the food and service. Hand on heart we will be back!

Darbar Restaurant
36, 38 North St, EmsworthFirst time visit yesterday and we were impressed with the different menu to a lot of Indian restaurants. They also had Indian wine and we tried the Cab Sav and that was great and went well with the food. We will be back next time we are in the area.

The Deck
Emsworth Yacht Harbour, Thorney Rd, EmsworthWe were staying nearby in the fisherman’s cottages on a break from London, this place was recommended to us. Info about the menu was limited on their website that I could find, but we booked it on recommendation. It’s located above the boat club, and is elevated with some lovely views over the boat area, with some seats on the decking outside also. It’s super lovely inside, simple but very bright. The menu was small but had something for everyone, the specials board looked delicious. The lady that took our order made us immediately feel at ease when she explained how they could chop and change everything for the kids orders, and helpfully suggested a smaller order than planned for one of the children which was great advice and the portion was still large. We got there in time to order the muscles off the specials board, and they were genuinely some of the best I’ve ever had.Drinks were lovely with some fantastic mimosa’s.What a lovely, friendly tasty find! We’d love to return one day. We would absolutely recommend as well!

Pizza Hot Charcoal Grill
33 North St, EmsworthHad the best pizza for a long time here. Food arrived hot and fresh. However the only negative is that they never read the notes on the order. Twice I’ve requested no onions yet they always add them. Not good for people with allergies.Dietary restrictions: They don’t read notes/requests on this.

Starbucks
A27, EmsworthEarly morning coffee stop for a journey. Lovely friendly barista. We’re a bit off the coffee chains to be honest, but she made us feel valued which can be so different to the normal production line in some chains? Having a smiley friendly conversation set us up for the day. Thank you (Sat 23/9/23)

New China
42 High St, EmsworthMy food was delivered quickly & was piping hot. Delicious BBQ spare ribs, sesame prawn toast, shredded chilli beef & Singapore chow mein ? I have no criticism with the food or service but, they really need to update their website. They offer free delivery if order is over £18 & in a 3 mile radius but don't, because it's an old website. Delivery cost isn't much, but that's not the point. They also have an option to offer feedback, but it doesn't work ? Apart from that, I was very happy with my food ☺️

Flintstones Tea Room
The Flint Barn, South St, EmsworthThe really friendly and welcoming greeting from the staff just makes you know that this will be a lovely place. Although there are a few tables outside, they were not for a chilly January day, but there are about 10 tables inside. We had a great all day breakfast and a bap stuffed with sausage, bacon, egg and cheese, washed down with a good size mug of hot tea. Dogs are welcomed and made a fuss of! One to visit again.

36 on the Quay restaurant with rooms
47 South St, EmsworthHave just had the most amazing meal for hubby's birthday at 39 On the Quay. We chose the set menu, and the carrot soup starter was out of this world, certainly not your normal soup - the texture and taste were nothing short of sublime. The rest of the meal didn't disappoint, everything about the meal was exceptional - we just loved it.A truly high-class restaurant with very reasonable pricing. We shall be back.Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

The King's Arms
19 Havant Rd., EmsworthWe were recommended to eat here by friends who spoke very highly of the food and we were not disappointed. We arrived half an hour early but were attended to straight away by very friendly and attentive staff. I was very impressed that we were able to order the small Sunday roast lunch, I had lamb and my husband had turkey. All aspects were very well cooked, the potatoes were crispy, the vegetables done to perfection including the cauliflower cheese. We shared dessert of pineapple rum cake with mango sorbet and orange set cream. It was all delicious and our experience was enhanced by Molly our server who took the trouble to ask our names as we chatted to her and remembered them when we left. All in all a perfect lunch on Easter Sunday.
