Cantina
20 High St, VentnorWhat a wonderful welcome we found here on a foggy Monday morning in Ventnor. There actually wasn't much open anywhere as its very much still out of season but Cantina more than made up for that. A lovely sunny greeting, chilled water provided without having to ask and prompt and cheerful service. The kindness shown by the staff to those who were obviously regulars, some elderly, as well as to us as visitors, is a rare thing to see these days. Lovely place. Dog friendly.

On Mother’s Day (15th March) we arrived, my brother, our lovely mum, and I eagerly looking forward to fresh seafood and a great meal.
As soon as we entered for our 1pm booking, we were greeted, seated, and ordered our drinks. It was quite busy, which was understandable as it was Mother’s Day. We ordered the seafood platter, which we were able to modify for three people so we could all share. When ordering, we were told that we definitely wouldn’t leave hungry.
We waited around 35–40 minutes for the food to arrive. Because it was very busy and Mother’s Day, we completely understood the wait, although we were quite hungry by that point.
When the platter finally came out, it looked and smelled divine. The owner kindly explained in detail what everything was on the plate. The platter also came with a side of chips and a really nice salad, as you can see in the photos.
The food itself was delicious, but my brother and I didn’t feel completely full afterwards. Perhaps it’s just that seafood can be a little lighter, but maybe an extra side or a few more items on the platter would have made it more filling for the price.
The bill came to around £266 for the three of us, including drinks and a dessert that we shared afterwards. It’s as much as spending in London. It was a lovely experience overall, however, the £200 seafood platter for three didn’t fill my brother and me up, despite being told we wouldn’t leave hungry.
I’m just a growing young adult who enjoys food and can eat quite a lot!

A proper local restaurant with an eclectic menu and incredible flavours from the small team, a friendly warm welcome and impeccable service complimented the delicious food. I enjoyed a calves liver dish from the specials board with an incredibly intense sweet and savoury sauce. There's a sensible wine list and interesting cocktails. Thoroughly recommend ?

As for the food? Simply outstanding. Every bite was bursting with flavor — fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. It’s rare to find a spot where both the service and the meal are equally memorable, but this café delivered on both.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying lunch and a touch of charm with their meal!

Lady Scarlett's Tea Parlour Isle Of Wight
The Esplanade, VentnorThis cafe is an absolute must visit if you’re in Ventnor, we try to go anytime we’re there! The homemade cakes we had recently were absolutely delicious and they also have a variety of drinks, savoury food and ice cream, all for a very affordable price. The owners and staff are lovely and the cafe has a really cool WW2 theme inside which makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time! The cafe is also great in any type of weather - the seats outside overlooking the sea are perfect for a sunny day, and it's super cosy inside if the weather’s not so good. I’d highly recommend visiting!

66 High St, VentnorAlways a friendly welcome. The food is all prepared to order and good value. It's also great listening and reminiscing to familiar tracks from earlier times. We always call in for lunch whenever we visit Ventnor. Highly recommend.

Belgrave Rd, VentnorOn arrival we had booked a Blue Badge parking space and there it was with our name showing?
On to reception through the midst of a very busy Mothering Sunday to be greeted by a very bright and bubbly young lady by the name of Davina amazingly professional and helpful.
Room 20 situated a few steps from the lift superb well appointed with walk-in shower as requested lovely views of the sea through very clean windows and access to a balcony.
Went to the bar again amazing staff nothing was too much trouble and the sandwiches were very fresh.
Considering the restaurant was full for mother's day lunch and other areas were full of people having afternoon tea all staff were very attentive whilst obviously very busy..
Diner in the evening was again top class with amazing food amazing staff and service and I would mention Charlotte by name she was amazingly personable.
Good quality sleep and lovely breakfast where Charlotte was still on shift, a very friendly face.
Rebooked later in the year.

High St, Godshill, VentnorHaving found out this had recently reopened i've been eager to try the food. We went for a Sunday roast and was certainly not dissapointed. We had the sharing platter roast which served the two of us but would've easily served three. It was almost the price for two people's large roast but included all three meats and all the additional side avaliable for purchase offering great value for money. The pub has always had a great atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. Didn't catch the lady's name in the restaurant area this evening but incredibly helpful and friendly. Many beers and ales on tap which is nice to see. Will definitely revist to sample the normal menu.

However when the food came, WOW! huge portions and all of it incredibly well cooked and presented. Worth every single penny, a blast from the past, great food, great portion size, a real gem of a find. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Esplanade, VentnorThis is a “Tapas” bar cum restaurant and bar. It was advertising clam chowder when we walked past and looked welcoming so was a no brainer. The staff were friendly and helpful but the p;ace probably needed another server given how busy it was. Otherwise, the chowder with generous helpings of crusty bread and butter was gorgeous. Wine and beer choices a little limited for such a popular establishment. Would definitely go there again if in the area.

7 Church St, VentnorOne of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had in a while, wished we lived closer (we were on holiday). Food all very flavourful, distinct sauces, meat felt high quality, the duck in particular was delicious. Friendly staff. They were very busy as it was valentines and a Saturday night, but the order wasn’t delayed and all the food was delicious, hot and fresh. We had beef in black bean, duck with hoisin, fried rice and chow mien, would recommend it all.

Everything was delicious, from the warm, hearty paneer to the delectably sweet butter chicken and the soft, cheesy, garlicky naan bread with which to soak it all up. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. The service was fantastic, the interior of the restaurant cosy and intimate and the location ideal in the very heart of Ventnor. Please come here with your family for a delicious, filling and authentic Indian dinner that is of a reasonable price range.
