Got there early by mistake, but enjoyed a Lucky Bhudda beer (4.8%) (£6.50 seemed a bit pricey but I guess these are restaurant prices) while waiting. We had some prawn crackers as an appetiser. I chose Spring Roll x 3 as a starter. They were just crispy enough and not too soft. Hot and tasty. I also enjoyed the vegetarian and tofu curry with egg fried rice, all of which I ate. Three other people I was with, also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Would definitely go back again. Great news to hear they are dog friendly as well ?

We ordered 2 mega mixed grills and a standard mixed grill, 2 standard mixed grills arrived and 1 mega. The steak on one of the grills was gristly and inedible. However, all of our issues were rectified immediately and the staff were brilliant, especially Emma that went above and beyond. Overall we were very happy with the service received and will definitely be returning. We would highly recommend coming here!!there was also a live band on for our entertainment which was a bonus.

This can be popular in a good way, so dont be n out off with people hanging around the entrance door.
Visited in Jan 2026, a large pub and decent drink and food selection with offers on both.
Staff are friendly and efficient.
Nice oun but showing wear and tear in many places and toilet facilities are a prime example (sink panels dropped off, loose taps, cold hand dryer, worn flooring etc).
As this is a good value venue, you can overlook most of the common issues.

Got a good deal, staff were friendly and very helpful when we asked for extra pillows and new towels, no breakfast first day as not many guests. Breakfast second morning as place filled up and it was very nice. You pay for what you get and I felt it was value for money, would stay again, tram stops about a hindered yards away so make town very accessible.

Since the wedding, we have had a lot of compliments about our day, and much of them have been about the food— it was delicious, and the service was insanely smooth and efficient. Marco and Tony were highly trustworthy and reliable from start to finish, operating on good old-fashioned business principles. They were great value and would recommend them in a heartbeat. Probably the best Fish & Chips I've had in a long time!
The customer service was second to none, Chantelle was wonderful!

Our daughter loves Chinese noodle dishes and she loved it. Chow mean, fried rice dish, spring rolls and chicken wings. Everything was fresh and piping hot, food arrived very quickly.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very attentive to all guests. We were there 5pm on a Saturday and there were a steady flow of people mostly booked. So I'd probably phone.

Overall food was delicious, hot and fresh, Chicken in the dishes was beautiful, chicken fried was beautiful.

There were a few people in at this time (bearing in mind it opens at 5pm), which shows that its a good place to eat. This consisted of 2 different types of burger, we picked the chicken burger and the bbq cheese. 2 different kinds of fries, we chose Asian topped fries and truffle and parmesan fries. Crispy chilli beef, salt and pepper chicken and halloumi cheese. The food was absolutely spectacular, it really was. It was amazingly priced too. All that for £43. It was easily enough for 2 as we didn't finish it all. Would highly recommend!!!!

Very clean and nicely kept, been going for nearly 12 years now with perfect hospitality everyone made welcome.

Soup is changeable but always nice to have a different one and the croutons are AMAZING!!
The team here are very friendly nothing a trouble and despite how busy they are they pull together well and always smiling. Any issues just give them a call
Carvery is far far better than chain ones, loads of choices and large portions of meat. It’s like going around your mums for lunch (except with out doing the dishes!)
It’s a busy popular bar but always manage to get a seat when I walk in (usually three of us) however if you have a larger party can always give them a call and reserve if required.
It is a traditional pub and unspoiled by time, a good pint and options of hot and cold drinks for the drivers too.
Everything behind the bar you would expect, one of input party is a wine drinker and always has a good glass.

The bar staff were friendly. However, I was slightly disappointed there was nothing under 4% available in the cask ales, but any port in a storm, and The Pool brew Paid In Full was golden and very more-ish. The pub had a relaxed vibe which I enjoyed on a Sunday afternoon. There are a lot of chairs in here but perhaps that’s a testament to the goodness of the beer. I shall definitely return for another good beer, with my dog which will thankfully be allowed in the pub

Presentation was good but the taste was even better.

Got there early by mistake, but enjoyed a Lucky Bhudda beer (4.8%) (£6.50 seemed a bit pricey but I guess these are restaurant prices) while waiting. We had some prawn crackers as an appetiser. I chose Spring Roll x 3 as a starter. They were just crispy enough and not too soft. Hot and tasty. I also enjoyed the vegetarian and tofu curry with egg fried rice, all of which I ate. Three other people I was with, also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Would definitely go back again. Great news to hear they are dog friendly as well ?

It was like walking into someone’s living room…a super quirky one with chilled out music to boot (including the owner tapping away on the drums)
Josh who runs it couldn’t have been more welcoming, not been able to switch off like this on some time, barely moved for over an hour, good for the soul. Won’t forget the experience anytime soon.
