Fitzy's At the Trapp

Trapp Ln, |, Simonstone, Burnley

I visited Fitzy’s at the Trapp for dinner with my partner and we had a lovely experience. The restaurant is located in a beautiful country hotel with stunning views of the Pendle countryside. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cosy and romantic. We ordered from the festive menu, which had a good variety of dishes to choose from. I had the smoked salmon pate for starter, which was smooth and flavourful, served with toasted focaccia and lemon olive oil. My partner had the breaded brie wedges, which were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, accompanied by a tangy orange and cranberry compote. For the main course, we both opted for the traditional roasted turkey with all the trimmings. The turkey was moist and tender, the stuffing was savoury and herbaceous, and the gravy was rich and smooth. The roasted potatoes were crispy and fluffy, and the seasonal vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The highlight of the dish was the bacon wrapped chipolata, which added a nice smoky and salty touch. We were too full for dessert, but we couldn’t resist the strawberries and cream cheesecake, which was light and creamy, with a crunchy biscuit base and a sweet strawberry gel. It was the perfect way to end our meal.We were very impressed by the quality and quantity of the food, and the reasonable price of the menu. We paid £24 per person for a three-course meal, which was a great value for money. We also enjoyed the selection of cask ales and fine wines, which complemented our food well.We would definitely recommend Fitzy’s at the Trapp to anyone looking for a cosy and festive dining experience in Burnley. The restaurant offers a great service, a delicious food, and a stunning view.
