7-9 Rose Mount, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonI had the pleasure of attending Elixir last week for a friend's 50th birthday celebration, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of outstanding.
The decor is spot on — stylish, upmarket, and effortlessly trendy without feeling pretentious. The food was absolutely to die for. I had the lamb koftas and the camembert, both of which were nothing short of sensational — packed with flavour and beautifully presented.
What truly stood out, though, was the service. The young team were fantastic, and a special mention must go to Molly, who looked after our group with genuine warmth and professionalism. She was attentive, friendly, and made us all feel so welcome.
Although I don’t live on the Wirral, I’m already looking forward to returning with my wife and children so they can experience Elixir for themselves. Keep up the great work — it’s clear that this is a venue run with real care and passion.

Parking: Large car park across the road for all people to park there cars
Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome most the time but must leave by 9pm!

38 Claughton Firs, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonIt's good in here. It's a tight space pub with low ceilings, its busseling on weekends with younger crowds. Always Friendly people and staff. Pricier than other locals toward Birkenhead.

Homebrew Tap Oxton
58 Christchurch Rd, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonLovely little craft beer room, great selection with lots of variety. Not too expensive for what it is, and has a lager option on tap at a more affordable price if you did want to stay for a session! Tried a couple of beers and all were lovely, and bar staff sound too. Also, lots of DOGS! very cute, worth a look!

2 Claughton Firs, Oxton, Village, Birkenhead, PrentonBeen coming here for years as it really is one of the best in the wirral. Cosy indoors and great beer garden. Great beer selection, wines not bad as well. Most of the food is spot on, especially the sunday roasts. Seafood chowder was disappointing. Service is really good with staff often providing table service as well. Always playing good music, wish they would actually turn it up a bit.

Bon Bakery Oxton
27A Rose Mount, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonWas walking past and got a breakfast bap. I cant remember the last time i had a breakfast sandwich that didnt look like ingredients from a warming draw thrown together on bread. Freshly fried bacon sausage and egg, on a freshly toasted batch. Will be back next week, absolutely delicious.

Wirral Hundred
45 Noctorum Way, Birkenhead, PrentonThis has been our local for the last 4 years but sadly we never frequented here for obvious reasons, tried again today, wow what a difference, it’s now a really friendly local pub. The change in atmosphere and decor is just brilliant, the new owners have made a huge effort in turning this place around, it could be a massive success if all locals get on board, and fresh home cooked food without pub chain requirements. So glad we gave this place another try will be back again for sure.

Chaplin's Oriental Chinese Takeway
22 Grange Mount, Birkenhead, PrentonChaplins is not a chippy as I have experienced before as it really caters meals.The meals are of restaurant quality every time to the point that my wife and I are slowly working our way through the menu.Prices are on par with surrounding takeaways, but the quality of the food is of a higher standard.RegardsRayWheelchair accessibility: Not recommended as the door closure to gain access has a high resistance.

187 Prenton Hall Rd, Birkenhead, PrentonNipped in for lunch, lovely staff and easy parking. Ordered a coffee and a sandwich, filling, tasty, bread wasn't great, a little dry but, over all good. Total cost was £6 and coffee was really nice.

The Queens Arms Oxton
1 Storeton Rd, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonWe ate here on a Saturday night at 7pm and the restaurant area was quiet. By the time we left, the bar area had started to get busier but it didn't disturb us in the quiet food section! We had the ribs and a Caesar salad. The ribs were fantastic and the meat fell clean off the bone. The salad was also very tasty but didn't come with the croutons that the menu said they would, and as a result we felt it was missing something that the crunch from the croutons likely would have added. We were told they didn't have any at all and no alternative was offered which was disappointing, but the staff were otherwise incredibly friendly and happy to help. We had a lovely experience overall, and I highly recommend the ribs.

The food is superb and wouldn't go anywhere else for Indian takeaway, think we have gone through whole menu! Always comes hot, plentiful and the staff in the shop and delivery guys are always polite We always have leftovers and think it's a good price for what you get. Would wholly recommend

Mayflower Chinese Takeaway

Also tried my mates salt and pepper chicken as well as chips, belter place probably the best on the wirral genuinely.
Service was amazing people were so sound and had a brilliant laugh with us.
If you’re ever near oxton and fancy a chippy go here 100%

I went for the prawn curry with rice which was tasty and the portions were large.
Yes,it's slightly more expensive than many places but not as bad as the reviews make out!

15 Rose Mount, Oxton, Birkenhead, PrentonFirst time ever going to this chip shop I've only wanted to try it because its always busy when family have gone past anyway finally tried it out and got mixed noodles and beansprouts and small chips tonight being totally honest I wasn't fussed on the chips as they were just warm and really mushy not liked by me but the mixed tub of noodles and the beansprouts with the onion mixed together was very very nice and I would happily get them again they wasn't just really nice but the amount you get for only 3 pounds is value for money and quantity is more than enough to share with others not everyone will enjoy the same foods and I was a bit put off by the bad reviews off others but I tried some of the stuff I like and it was hit and miss wouldn't get the chips again but the noodles and beansprouts are a definite what am trying to say is try it out for ur self and don't let the reviews of other people put u off like me you may like items that others don't everyone is different and everyone cooks food different as other takeaways hope you try it out and enjoy it

We have Maccie D's as a treat once a week and we've started going out of our way to come here as the staff are more friendly and the food is better and hot! The orders haven't been wrong once so keep up the good work, I've said this before Ronald often does the hiring in Maccies this time and actual person must have hired their staff ?
