Oh my goodness.. The nostalgia made my heart happy. The warmest welcome on a Sunday lunch time. All tables reserved which spoke volumes! Roast beef, so much meat on the plate left with no room for a desert which I was gutted about as by this point I knew they would all be home made. Will definitely be back ?
Lovely setting next to the old parish church. Traditional small, busy country pub with decent beers. Cider too and wines by the glass also. Properly sourced and cooked food. You can view over a service counter into the kitchen if you are curious. We ate and drank here for a delicious Sunday Lunch. Wonderfully atmospheric little village pub. Food was ordinary, but extremely pleasant. The three of us who ate there were very satisfied. Having been once before during teh winter, the open fire was welcoming. And is dog-friendly. A really lovely pub for traditional food. And the pub is over 25 miles from home !!
