Came here for a special anniversary and ended up with a special meal. All seven courses were excellent with great flavours and in a variety of styles - from a hearty Tuscan soup to tuna sashimi to frangipane tart with fig ice cream! The place is lovely and relaxed with front of house staff friendly, informative and efficient. Apparently the menu changes regularly according to what’s in season and local - a good enough I reason to definitely pay a return visit.

Cannot recommend this place enough! Everything made here is delicious - cakes are perfection and the jacket potatoes are baked brilliantly. Best place to go and the ladies there are always some welcoming and friendly! Please do give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

Thank you for a lovely stay. It wasn’t quite the stay we had planned, but no one could have predicted the weather on Saturday 23rd Nov 2024. Fabulous service from all staff, in the hotel. The Terrace Restaurant is warm and Nikolai (sorry if I’ve spelt that wrong) made us feel most welcome, as did all his Team. The food was fabulous we particularly enjoyed the Estate Game Sharer. Hoping to visit again in the future. Fi and Mark Simpson

Stayed at the Kings Head Hotel for four nights while working.
I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have had. From the warm introduction at check-in to the room to the food....everything was spot on.
Breakfast you were welcomed by Gaye and Chris who were perfect hosts. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Room was warm, comfortable, plenty of hot water and so may additional extras. The fresh milk from the bar in your own mini milk urn was a lovely touch. Evening meals were plentiful, well prepared with specials every week. I enjoy homecooked style meals rather than hoity toity fare so it was perfect.
A great experience that I intend to do again.
Thanks to all the staff at the Kings Head for making my stay perfect.

What an amazing place to visit. Free parking, a shop, a children’s play area, picnic benches and marked walks.
Add to that a lovely pets corner with some wonderfully named rabbits, donkeys, Pygmy goats, donkeys and some rather unusual sheep. Finally there is an open cow shed where you can see the animals whose milk is used to make this truly delicious ice cream. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a gorgeous meal at the White Bear last night for my birthday! I had the curry of the day, flavourful and cooked to perfection. My partner had the steak which was top notch with a gorgeous Diane sauce! We sat out in the beer garden; on a warm summers evening it was just bliss! The service was great and our drinks were regularly refreshed. We booked fairly last minute as well and Sue made the accommodations to squeeze us in! Would highly recommend popping in for a visit if you are in the area.

Great place lovely staff dog friendly and have the sweetheart of a waitress who’s only 13 who works so hard to please the customers and make them laugh the landlord doesn’t care who you are and treats you like he’s known you for years it’s amazing so cozy

Kid-friendliness: When we went the landlord gave them a lollipop and the waitress gave them bubbles
