Absolutely fabulous night at the quiz. Ash the landlady and her partner are very welcoming and the atmosphere in the pub is brilliant. There is a lovely beer garden which gets the sun most of the day. As a single lady the landlady and the regulars make me feel so welcome so will be spending much more time in the Durham Ox

Entrance is up quite a dark, narrow, dingy lane and then up quite steep stairs to the restaurant which had basic decor.
The restaurant was very quiet when we visited but we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was good too.

This was a great outlet for lunch, located conveniently on the Northallerton high street! The counter is well laid out with all the available produce, staff were friendly and the frames have good images of the town's history. I had a tasty cheese and onion pasty, though it was too crumbly at the bottom and my coffee was nice however.

Had an excellent lunch here, would definitely recommend! We had the steak & ale pie and fish finger sandwich for mains and both were delicious. The panna cotta for dessert was absolutely divine! Service, friendliness, waiting time, atmosphere were all wonderful and the drinks were great too - had a lovely pint of Guinness and Timothy Taylor’s landlord! A wonderful pub to try if you’re ever in the area!

This is such a hidden gem. Service was fantastic. I had a Vegan full English breakfast which included a hot drink. The breakfast was delicious and of good quality. I paid less than £10. It was good value for money without compromising on the quality. Highly recommend.

I only dropped one star on atmosphere because we were there during a quiet time, and was difficult to say what it would have been during a busier time. The atmosphere was still brilliant considering. The food was perfect and the staff were freindly, although not very chatty. This may seem negative, but I like to find out the history of the staff and the history of why they are here doing this and basically being nosey, but the right answers can have me support them by visiting more often when Ive enjoyed the experience. I liked the Italian way of sitting at the table and being looked after without going to the bar, and they made sure we were ok without pestering to often. Conclusion it was a smashing time, smart place and great food. Perfect; will visit again. ??

Decided to pick somewhere random on maps and go eat. We got there when it opened at 3pm and sat in the outdoor area enjoying drinks and the sun.

Food service started at 5pm so we moved indoors around 20 minutes in advance and quickly realised just how popular the place is!

We ordered the Salami and Hot Honey pizza and Steak and Ale Pie, the latter was served with a choice of garden or mushy peas, the best chips I’ve had since I left home 37 years ago and gravy.

We paid £11 pizza/£14 pie and chips, the quality of the food and the portions were spot on, this coupled with excellent service definitely guarantees another visit if we’re in the area again!!

Super thick juicy sirloin steaks cooked just as we asked. Deliciously crispy proper chips with a large flat mushroom, roasted tomatoes & onion rings. All cooked and presented beautifully. Oh & a choice of sauces to go with your meal included in the price. Wow...\n\nIt was fabulous and exceptional value for money. \n\nMuch praise owed to the chef who prepared our meal just as we asked. The interior is quirky and cool, and adds a certain something. The food is good and offers fresh, vegan choices too. The staff are great. And it opens new years day when most places are closed. Plus, it is dog friendly and not in the least bit fussy or pretentious. A gem on the high Street.

Great little diner! Reasonable prices. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger which came as a right decent sized beef patty (not a film of processed meat) on a really soft brioche bun, a mound of chips and some salad. It was all freshly cooked and served promptly. The staff were absolutely lovely. Very clean place. They have a kind of buffet with a choice of a main and a couple sides as well as cold sandwiches and salad to grab and go if you need. Cold drinks are available and their coffee was quite nice as well. Fair bit of seating available. All in all, a great place! Thank you for giving us HGV drivers a great place to eat!!

Ordered chowmiens, house curry, salt and pepper chicken & chips, crispy chilli chicken and egg fried rices.

Fab take away, excellent portion sizes too, Salt and pepper dishes were excellent. Good meat portion in chilli chicken. Only flaw is chow miens were quite bland/dry with minimal meat portion. But a fab takeaway and will be ordering again from there.

I took my son and I for a Sunday carvery after not visiting for around 15 years. I used to come here regularly with my parents, so it was lovely to return.

The food and drinks were excellent value for money, and the staff were fantastic. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially with my toddler, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll be bringing the rest of the family too!

A lovely, cosy coffee spot with a view of the local farmers market (only on a Sunday though, so don't get your hopes up too high you midweek coffee shop goers!). The batista put his heart and soul into the presentation of our lattes which was just the icing on the cake. Lovely.
