What a gem! Found it by chance after a bit of a beach walk looking for for fossils. Lovely pub with a roaring fire. Clearly popular but we got a table. Does food that smelled and looked very nice although we weren't there to eat. Friendly staff.
Visiting Whitby for a few days. Came here for dinner. The place was busy for a Tuesday in February. Lots of open fires to keep it toasty! I had garlic mushrooms: beautifully cooked with fresh bread and salad. Huge portion even though it was a starter. Staff and regulars were really friendly. Definitely come again!

Today we stopped for lunch, realised there was a sunny rear beer garden. We had the special lamb burger and fish finger sandwich. It came well presented, piping hot and was delicious. The garden was full of people, with more waiting for tables. This is a favourite place after a nice long dog walk along the beach beforehand.
