Been here before, nice place for a beer. Like the window seats by the bar. They sell Veltins pilsner, my favourite beer, and it's very good too. We paid ÂŁ5.50 for a pint so I would not say that is too unreasonable. We got well robbed in the Duke of York by the Shambles, almost ÂŁ1.50 more per pint (so avoid that place) Will always come back here when visiting York
Gorgeous old pub with nice selection of drinks and amazing staff who were so friendly and bonus points for being for not only being dog friendly but also making the point of coming to see the dog and give him attention which not only he appreciated but we did also.

Popped in to get out of the rain and was greeted by a quite classic looking pub with a very traditional atmosphere. Had a pint of Mittel which is apparently their companiesâ own beer. Either way it was a cracking pint and better going somewhere and not having to drink Carling. Highly recommend coming here!
