We had lunch here on a busy Saturday just before Christmas and couldn’t have been more pleased by both the food and the service. We hadn’t booked but a table was found promptly. The Black Bull and I go back a long way and I have lots of good memories, including having a pint there before walking across the bridge over the Tyne to get married, many years ago.This visit was also special, a reunion with old friends I hadn't seen for a long time. We've been visiting this pub for several years for pre-Christmas family get togethers, with a hiatus for a couple of years during the covid carry-on. We visited again recently and the pub was as nice as ever, however we as a party of 8 we were seated near thd rear exit and the heating seemed to be off and the more senior members of our party were cold which really spoiled the previous cosyness of our visits.
