Restaurants in Heddon-on-the-Wall
No. 19
Heddon-on-the-Wall, Newcastle upon TyneNo.19 Restaurant Close House - a new discovery and what a refreshing one.
I went with a friend, and for both of us it was a first. She's even toying with the idea of joining the golf academy after this little adventure.
We set off for a stroll, distracted by the scenery and wandered a touch too close to the golfers' kingdom - rewarded with a few shouts reminding us beauty is best admired off the fairway. Oops ?
Our detour ended perfectly at No.19, where time slipped away in food, chatter and that relaxed buzz only a place like this creates. Yes, it's very much a gentleman's leisure domain, but it's also where locals come for lunch, where mums with prams (I counted two today) pause for a coffee and where catching up seems to be the real sport of the day. ⛳?️♂️?

Three Tuns
1 Military Rd, Heddon-on-the-Wall, Newcastle upon TyneFriendly pub with a good selection of beers. Pints are a good quality and the pilsners are not too gassy.
The loaded chilli fries are particularly exquisite, perfectly complimenting the well poured Staropramen.
The staff are friendly, and are not afraid to chase down bill Dodgers, occasionally providing entertainment whilst you drink/eat, dragging the miscreants back inside to clear their debt.
Worth a visit if you are hungry/thirsty and are in the area.
