Japanese cured beef was so succulent with perfect accompaniments. The tempura courgette flower was delicious as was the accompanying vegetable bad offering wonderful flavour bombs and very well seasoned. Thank you!!

Pulpit House, 1 The Square, AbingdonWe brought 4 kids to ASK and had an amazing time. The food was great, and the service was quick and lovely. Yanitsa our server was fantastic. She helped and was really patient after we had a large spilled drink, and she made great friends with our 2 year old ? We will definitely be back.
Kid-friendliness: The kids meal is brilliant value and the kids all loved it. The whole staff including the chefs behind the counter were great with the children. Thank you! ?

Dog House
Faringdon Rd, AbingdonWe have frequently eaten here and, until recently, we have received good service and great food at a reasonable price. However, on two recent visits, we received poor service, having to ask for a drink, water etc. They seemed short staffed and their regular staff did not seem to be there. Today we visited and received dried out food although it wasn’t even hot. I returned my food and asked for it to be removed from my bill which I was told would happen. I did not take up the offer of a replacement so did not eat anything. We paid a total of £33.00 for two starters, one of which was returned and not replaced, two glasses of wine and two teas. I realised after paying that they had not deducted the cost of my inedible food. I tried to call by ‘phone but no reply. I will not be returning. It is such a shame as the surroundings are lovely. Obviously a change of staff has had an impact but I really could not recommend eating there where as previously I would.
I have today re-visited The Dog House and have now updated my review. We were served very quickly by Niamh who was pleasant and helpful. The service was excellent throughout our meal. Some familiar staff are now back and the whole atmosphere is once again, good.
Obviously, the previous staff were not the usual staff so it is such a shame that this had such a negative impact on the service and food.
I will now be more than happy to return there and would be happy to recommend The Dog House as a place to visit.

We thought the menu was excellent - tremendous choice - and enjoyed our delicious food in a lovely old room. The service was top-notch throughout, and we thought both the food and drinks menu were very reasonably priced.\n\nSmashing place. strongly recommended!

We went in for coffee and a sandwich - they have 2 menus, one Lebanese and one English food - we ended up having Lebanese, Chicken Shawarma and a Shish Taouk with a coffee and a cheeky glass of wine (for me!) oh my word, best food I've had out in a very long time! Highly recommend going here. Very reasonably priced too.

The Brewery Tap
40-42 Ock St, AbingdonWhen we arrived at The Brewery Tap we went into the bar to get the keys. We were greeted by a friendly person who took us outside through another door into the room area. This was such a surprise. We had the most fantastic and large room with large ensuite. It was very clean and had a very comfortable bed and bedding together with two easy chairs. When you were in the room, you were not bothered by any activity in the pub or garden. Would we stay again......certainly!

For mains we ordered the cheeseburger and the butchers cut bavette steak. The burger was absolutely perfect. The onion rings were missing from the bavette steak dish, however the meal itself was delicious! Perhaps just a reminder to ensure all of what is advertised is provided since the dish is £23.50 (but worth every penny). \n\nFor dessert we ordered a sticky toffee pudding and a chocolate tart, both also delicious! \n\nOur dog was greeted by the staff and offered some complimentary treats which made us feel really welcome. \n\nHighly recommend!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, making us feel at ease with no pressure, they even helped me with a recommendation, I wasn’t disappointed. A well organised crew.
Lovely starters, beautiful hot pizza, we even squeezed a very tasty pudding in.

10 E St Helen St, AbingdonRather unusual pub located in the centre of Abingdon. It's obviously an old building, long and narrow, but with bits added on and somehow it doesn't seem to know whether it is a modern or a traditional pub, resulting in a slightly confused atmosphere. There is a courtyard and garden hidden away at the back for al fresco drinking and dining. On the bar, there were two ales available at the time of our visit: London Pride and Loose Canon Abingdon Bridge - as a big supporter of smaller breweries and a firm believer that pubs should always offer a local ale, I obviously opted for the latter as my drink of choice, and this went down very nicely. The menu is very much a modern one, focusing on a range of stone baked pizzas, burgers, buttermilk chicken, along with a small number of traditional pub classics such as Fish & Chips. We all went for the pizzas, my own choice being the 'Monster Meat' variety. I have to say, they fall a bit behind the peerless pizzas you get at the White Rabbit in Oxford (and are a little more expensive too) but they are a decent second and we all enjoyed our food. Service was good - the young staff here are polite, friendly and efficient.

I was interested in trying a few tequilas at the bar and we received a lot of advice and guidance on what tequila to try. We had a very good night. And even returned to trial some more tequila at the end of the night. There are gluten free options available. Will definitely return. Just a shame I don't live closer or I'd be here every night.

We did the conga, lots of dancing. And they really looked after our group and made the night unforgettable. We honestly didn’t want it to end! Importantly for us, they had a good selection of vegetarian options which is unusual these days where most other places offer only one or two. Fear not meat eaters, there were also plenty of options for you. As the food, ambience and service were so sublime we decided to treat ourselves to 3 courses to prolong the evening.
The service was amazing, both friendly and efficient and all this was experienced against the backdrop of a large beautiful garden in the warm setting sun. Idyllic.

I no longer live in the area but always make time for a stop whrn I am visitng friends of family as the Chicken Mayo is one of the best I have ever eaten. I don't like brown bread but always opt for the brown bap as something about them is just awesome.
My love for the shop was made even stronger after my recent lunch. I was unable to go in store so ordered through just eat but unfortunatley, there was o ly 1 sausage roll left when I ordered 2. Instead of juat leaving it off or issuing a refund, they made an entire sausage baguette to make up for it! This more than made up for it and just re-confirmed why I love this place so much!
Parking: Paid parking on West st helens street or free on street outside co-op if you are lucky.

Had a Sunday roast here for about 18 guests to celebrate my mothers 90th birthday. Nic and her team worked closely with me to ensure the occasion went off without a hitch, even accommodating my father in his wheel chair and his height adjustable table. The food was excellent and the addition of the log fire made for a convivial atmosphere. Many thanks Nic for a wonderful afternoon that all enjoyed and commented upon what a lovely venue you have..

1 Stert St, AbingdonI think this might now be my favourite coffee place in Abingdon. The coffee is great, they are dog friendly and will fill your reusable mug.
Food can sell out a bit quickly at lunch time so arrive early to avoid disappointment. The stock a great range of beans (they can grind them for you) to takeaway, and I think they're the only place in Abingdon that sells V60 filter papers. Handy when I run out!

The service was amazing, both friendly and efficient and all this was experienced against the backdrop of a large beautiful garden in the warm setting sun. Idyllic.

The Plough Inn
Long Wittenham Spso, 24 High St, Long Wittenham, AbingdonWe popped in for a bite to eat early doors and had the most amazing fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. The welcome and the service is excellent, and both food and drinks at a very fair price. And the beer gardens, playgrounds etc are lovely and back onto the Thames. Beautiful pub and setting. We’ll definitely come again.

The Barns Cafe
Christ Church, Northcourt Road, AbingdonBeautiful cafe with free parking. Lovely range of cafe food at very reasonable prices. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Accessible parking and entry, dog friendly outside space. Had to wait for a seat but thats because it was a very busy day and an excellent cafe!
