Had a lovely evening for my son’s birthday. We were a table of 8 and had fantastic service from Gonz, He was very attentive, very helpful, got everyone’s meals spot on (which was tricky as we are a fussy bunch) and was happy to have a laugh with us. Didn’t realise till after when my mum said her starter must have been sat waiting to be served for a while as it wasn’t very warm. Possibly due to getting all starters ready before serving the table. It was also a very long time before we received them. That apart everyone enjoyed what they had. We love to eat with you guys when we have a special occasion.

Off The Hook (Kidlington)

I had a great experience here. The service was friendly and efficient, and the fish and chips were excellent. Portion sizes were generous, and while the prices are similar to what you'd find in London (so not the cheapest), the quality makes it worthwhile.

At first glance, the batter on the fish didn’t look very crispy, but it turned out to be perfectly crisp and full of flavor. The chips seemed like they were double-fried — not sure if that was intentional, but I loved it. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like them.

The tartar sauce was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I’m not sure if it was homemade or store-bought, but if it was the latter, they’ve made an excellent choice.

The Kings Arms

Incredible food. Seriously delicious and also great prices! Nice atmosphere in the pub and the restaurant and great service too. I'm amazed, honestly, the food is superb.

The Cygnet at Swan Inn Islip

Stopped here for a drink at the end of a walk. It was mid afternoon and food was not available but the staff could not have been more welcoming and we had drinks in the lovely, peaceful garden as the weather was warm and sunny. The dining area that we walked through was beautifully decorated with low lights, attractive wallpaper and nice furniture. The menu had some very tempting dishes. Would definitely revisit to try the food.

The Turnpike

Our party of 9 arrived 30 minutes earlier than our table due to inclement weather was booked for but we were welcomed and accommodated at our table straightaway. We had 3 children in our group so a highchair was provided. Our server Lily was very helpful despite being in the middle of what looked a very busy service. All the roasts we had were on the whole very good, with plenty of vegetables. The only disappointments were the much anticipated roast potatoes, some of which were overcooked and thus too hard to even cut with a knife. Overall the food was good, staff friendly and attentive and reasonably priced.

Gurkha Village

This is my second visit to Gurkha Village, my first was dining in, and today I ordered a takeaway. Ordering online was so easy and convenient, and I really appreciated the text update letting me know when my food would be ready. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the staff are always friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back whether it’s dining in or ordering a takeaway.

Red Lion

I came to the red lion kidlington with my friends and had some lunch. The staff were very helpful and they did everything with a smile. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great! I will definitely be coming back.

The Jolly Boatman

Such a warm welcome and efficient service made our Friday night fish and chip supper a delightful one! We turned up on spec, but it was no problem for them to find us a table to eat in the bar area. Food was quick and tasty, better fish than we have experienced elsewhere on our journey!
The pub is bright and airy and a range of seating including some comfy armchairs makes for a comfortable visit.

Black Horse

Popped in at lunch time to enquire about food options spoke to Caitlin and Connor the chef we wanted the roast dinner however as we wanted to dine at £6 pm Caitlin explained the roast dinners were likely to be sold out. Connor immediately offered to set two meals aside for us. When we arrived staff could not have been nicer. We both enjoyed our meals and have no hesitation in recommending the warm welcome we from all the staff.

The Royal Sun

For our daughter’s wedding anniversary, someone recommended The Royal Sun. It’s off the roundabout past the Kidlington Airport turn-off on the A44 Woodstock Road. We’d passed the pub many times but never knew it was also an Indian restaurant. There’s a small garden next to the car park at the front (so not good for kids), but a much larger enclosed garden at the back quite nicely done up with a large pergola covered in fake wisteria and lights, and some individual sections at the back for small groups. They also have what looks to be a new barbecue, and when we went there was a DJ, and later karaoke.\nI was the only one to have a starter, which was the onion bhajis. Sometimes these are almost the size of a cricket ball, but these were four delicious and light crispy discs with a salad. My main was chicken Dopiaza (generous large pieces of chicken in onion based curry) which was very nice, not hot or too spicy.\nAs those who read my reviews might recall, my daughters and son-in-law are veggies, and although my wife eats steak and chicken at home, when we eat out she only has fish or veggie. So, from a pretty good veg selection, they chose to have a selection of four paneer dishes to share, Dopiaza, Saag (spinach & onions), Korma (mild creamy coconut) and Methi (Fenugreek). We added three rice dishes and two garlic naans. In most places, a naan bread is large enough for two to share, and a lot of the time is very oily (nice and tasty but a bit messy). Each portion here consisted of four round breads, each the size of a tea plate, and much less oily so much easier to tear and eat, but also much better than most others we’ve had. By the end we were all satisfied without being bloated and declined the desserts (brownie, sticky toffee pudding or crumble). \nThey actually have multiple menus and options, so besides the expected Indian fare, you can have classics like fish & chips, burgers, scampi, pies etc, or fusion, and also Sunday lunch, plus light bites. In all, there’s something for everyone, and by our experience, and the fact the bill was £133 (includes 10% service) for 5 mains, one starter and drinks, we’ll definitely be back.

Lovely service and food, an excellent stop for a break in the garden or a nice dinner in the lovely rooms inside. Dog-friendly. Highly recommended and we'll be back!

Tandoori Nights

Amazing customer service as always, but tonight they went above and beyond after I forgot to order something after my food had been delivered, it was on my doorstep in 5 minutes! Thank you, our favourite takeaway!

Gardiner Arms

One of the hottest days of the year and I had to go out to Tackley in Oxfordshire on the motorbike.
This pub was open so I dropped in for a couple of 0% Perronis and a bag of crisps.
Nice pub, nice staff, met Maca the boss, very welcoming.

Six Bells

Fantastic community pub, with friendly staff. Sunday lunch was great and all freshly prepared to order. Good selection of meats and a variety of vegetables served with the meal. Recommended if you are looking for somewhere for lunch.

The Crown

Great pub! Friendly bar staff, excellent selection of drinks, especially spirits. Garden is lovely. They also have different food vans cooking in the car park, such a lovely idea. Really enjoyed our evening at The

What a hidden gem! You walk through the door and are immediately made to feel welcome by the staff, they are an absolute delight, particular praise for the warm greetings we recieved from the lovely Claire and Tina. I felt like I had found a second home: the sound of the regulars enjoying themselves, the homely interior, the atmosphere couldn't have been better, a real community hub and an infectious energy that is missing from a lot of venues these days. The recent BBQ created a buzz like I have never seen before elsewhere: lively without being overcrowded. Definitely returning soon!

Oxford house cafe

Lovely ittle cafe, had the mexican panini and milkshake. Really well made and well looked after by the lady wprking there, only minor thing is it was a bit hot walking probably from the ovens.

Annie's Tea Rooms

Lovely cafe, in lovely location. Tables inside and out, with toilets and good selection of food (had big food envy over a quiche i saw someone else with!). We got coffees and a slice of delicious carrot cake. The staff were so friendly, and very kind to my daughter, while I saw other customers' pets outside being offered free dog treats.
Directly adjacent to a canoe/kayak/(& water-bikes!) hire place too.

The Boat Inn

Very good pub, ate messy fries girl at the bar was very helpful and sorted out any issues I had with drinks or questions etc, ambience very nice and cozy little place to eat / drink

Costa Coffee

Reasonable coffee, friendly staff, comfortable seating with quite a few 4 chair tables and 2 chair tables.

No WiFi and no 4G/5G signal, so not a great place to work if you need that, but great if you don't want to be distracted.

The Star

Lovely friendly lady on reception! Wearing clean chef whites and apron, as a chef myself, I always look for standards of hygiene and all the boxes were ticked on that front. The food tasted fresh and full of flavour! I can say with confidence that I will be returning as the prices are very modest and worth it. Thanks very much star! I was pleased with your services!

Alberts Fish Bar

Excellent large cod on 14 May around 8pm. Too many chips for 'small', but very good. Mushy peas did not spill on the way home! Still hot to eat fifteen minutes after wrap up. We know you're there when we're next back in Kidlington ... 2xlarge cod, 2x 'small' chips, 1xmushy peas for £25.60

Ovisher Indian Restaurant & Takeaway

Had an amazing evening. Food was incredible, very generous portions. Staff was genuinely not just very friendly but was my dad's birthday and allowed me to bring a carrot cake with sprinklers in an they went the extra mile and even sang. Thought it would just be me singing so was a lovely surprise.. even for me lol. Highly recommended..5stars. Well deserved. Thank you for a memberable evening.

MAYFLOWER Chinese Restaurant

We decided to celebrate a birthday at the Mayflower, as we hadn't been there for a while. We heard rumours that it wasn't very good service but the rumours couldn't have been more wrong. The food was superb and the staff were so cheerful and attentive. We had a great evening.

Domino's Pizza - Oxford - Kidlington

Just had two pizzas delivered and they are spot on, delicious and fresh, with plenty of topping, not too much crust! Will definitely order again! Thank you very much chefs! Beautifully made ?‍? 5 starts from me ?

Eastern Kitchen

Lovely staff and consistently great takeaway. We're currently big fans of the tofu with black bean sauce and the tofu with cashews and yellow bean sauce.

If you're collecting, note that there's no parking outside – please don't stop on the double yellow lines – but you can usually find space in the service road 200 m to the north or in the evenings in Benmead Road just along and opposite.
