I have just moved to Scotland and was very excited to find a bookshop in Dornoch and that it had a coffee shop and café next door!! I had the hands down best Oat Milk Mocha I've ever had. I think it was made with real dark chocolate 10/10!!! They also had one vegan cake available which I had. It's polenta which is actually something I'd never have ordered if I had known because something about polenta cake sounds weird ? but it was actually so delicious. I stand fully corrected!! I was 15 mins too late for a breakfast so I am really looking forward to coming back soon to try that!!!The server was super friendly and my order arrived really quicky!!

This is a very special place. the accommodations are luxurious and the proximity to golf and town are perfect. The food at Mara was simply superb. I did not use the menu and had the staff chose my courses. My meals were exquisite. Most importantly the staff are warm, knowledgeable and extraordinarily caring. We were touched by their level of service and pride in what has been achieved in creating one of the most special and welcoming Inn anywhere in the world.

Go to Dornoch camping twice a year over the last few years. The highlight of our trips is our purchases in this bakery. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The mince and potato pies are out of this world. So yummy. Not to forget the macaroni pies and goat's cheese with butternut squash quiche. Their biscuits, fiery ginger, pecan crunch and coconut crunch are delicious and really moreish. Just spent over £50 on biscuits and pies to take home. Can't wait til our next to Dornoch.

So good, a must visit if you are on Dornoch. The food is consistently excellent and the service is laid back but without comprising quality. For a 'nice' lunch Luigi is the place to go.

A mixture of simple and sophisticated dishes made from fine local produce. Highlights were the cauliflower panna cotta starter, fresh langoustines, and the coconut panna cotta dessert. Compliments to the chef. And after dinner, you can retire to one of the finest whisky bars in Scotland.

If you’re looking for somewhere that serves really good food. Isn’t too busy, and has a friendly face. This is the place to go. Food was very hot, and super delicious. Lots of drinks. TVs for sports. Toilets were clean. Little stove for heat. And for 4 people was roughly £100 with top quality steaks.Vegetarian options: They have enough options for a veggie.Parking: About 12 spaces right next to the bar, free.

Dornoch Castle Hotel is definitely an old world charm about this hotel. We booked the Cathedral view room. This overlooks the main road and was quiet during our stay, despite having the window open. The room was big, and spacious and decorated in the character of the hotel. The bathroom was a bit dated with whirl pool system on the bath. Didn't use this but did use the shower but you had to climb into the bath (good water pressure on the shower). The toilet was nicely located in the turret which added a bit of quirkiness. Breakfast was OK but my eggs benedict could have done with more hollandaise. My wife's veggie breakfast we good though. The only other slight issue was the noise from passing guests as the room is on the 1st floor with a number of corridors leading off it and we did have a number of people filing past making a noise. Not the hotel fault but something to consider when choosing rooms.
