Ada Turkish | Café And Restaurant
29 South St, ElginFancied a Turkish experience. ‘Ada’ in South Street, Elgin satisfied the need.
A modest starter of ‘Sucuk’ comprising succulent chargrilled spicy sausage on toasted sourdough bread with a garlicky sauce. Generous portion. Accompanied by draught Efes Turkish lager to quench a thirst.
Main course - Lamb ‘Guvec’. A casserole of diced lamb and vegetables in a tasty gravy served with bread and rice. Lamb tender with some fat which adds flavour and also contains omega-3 fatty acids. Okay, there’s saturated fat too but I didn’t it it all and healthy enough in moderation. Accompanied by a delicious ruby-red wine from Turkey called ‘Yakut’.
Turkish Delight for dessert. May not look like much but the three different flavours - cocoa, pistachio and coconut - were heavenly on the palate.
A pot of Turkish black tea (Çay) to round off an enjoyable meal.
Service excellent. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Eastern ambience with hanging-lamps.Turkish muzak may be played. Toilets well-appointed.

If your a fat bugger like me when eating out want to try everything. Can’t manage to eat all your pizza you can take it home and its even better the following morning

21 South St, ElginMy go to place in Elgin for a good quality Indian takeaway. Never been let down by the standard or amount.
My favourite dishes are, the mixed kebab as a starter and chicken tika as a main. I find a nam bread goes between 2 people.
Poppadoms are fresh, however my advice would be to buy your sources separately rather than a pickle tray, you get a better deal.
Costs are very reasonable. Never had a bad meal, well recommend

The car park is an odd shape but plenty of spots provided there aren't any events ongoing in the area as it can be a popular "out of the way" location to park.

Newmill, ElginReally enjoyed our meal of gammon and all the trimmings. We were £20 per person for meal, soft drink & a coffee . Coffees are lovely smooth tasting. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our only negative point was really about the other rude entitled customers who queue jumped when we were waiting both to wait for a table and then again when we went to pay . The system was a bit awkward as the paying point and checking in pount are next to one another and caused confusion both times - can this point be merged into one queue?

Harbour St, Hopeman, Elginjust had a great meal at bootleggers. Its not your tradional food stuff however it really has something for everyone! Not too outrageous but things like baked cauliflower. Roasted carrot and feta. plus ribs steak and seafood. we are fusy but we loved it. nice to have something abit different. definitely a sharing food experience rather than traditional starter mains pudding. Oh and by the way the view and ambience just finishes it off!

The Cottar Hoose
ElginI can describe it as the cosiest pub you'll visit in Elgin. It has a great atmosphere, wooden ceiling and stone walls, followed by a fireplace that gives to it life. Bar staff were very friendly and made us feel like home! There's a pool table and darts! 100% recommended.

11 Moss St, ElginDecided to try the Ashvale for the first time. We were super chuffed we did! Best fish and chips we have had in ages. We both opted for the jumbo haddock suppers, the fish was massive!! And our child (aged 2) got to eat for free!!! So so happy with that. He had chicken nuggets and was perfectly happy too, it was proper chicken too and not the usual nugget mulch out the freezer. The staff were fabulous. Our toddler is like many toddlers and wouldn’t sit still, but the staff chatted to him and kept him entertained and looked after. His meal out first and his pudding out first. Couldn’t ask for more, loved it! We will be back ?

2-6 South St, ElginOrin was an excellent choice to celebrate buying my new business premises in Elgin. We were there for the tapas evening. Delicious is an understatement. Suffice to say this was tapas like we’ve never ever had before.
We kicked off with Margaritas, a classic and a spicy ( compliments to the bar staff) then enjoyed wine with the meal. The staff couldn’t do enough, so attentive. It’s certainly a night we will not forget in a hurry. We had such a good time.
I’ll be nipping up for post work cocktails ?Thank you to the team at Orins.

19A Batchen St, ElginStopped here for lunch during a bus tour — best food stop we’ve been on! The latte was delicious, my husband’s lemon lime tea was refreshing. The crepes were stuffed full, and there was an option on the menu for everyone! The staff was extremely friendly and personable. Our only regret is that we didn’t save room for one of their fabulous desserts! If we ever find ourselves back in Elgin, this will be our first stop!!

And we got there and there is 30 minutes before closing, and there are very accommodating, especially with my 2 little girls that decided with 10 minutes to closing, wanted some food, and even though the kitchen was closed and being cleaned down, they still made them some toast with jam. So yes, I'm very welcoming and nice little cafe.

Food was homemade, fresh and really tasty. I recommend the soup (parsnip and apple- might sound like an odd combo but it worked really well and was nicely balanced) which I had with oatcakes.
Lots of variety of cake bakes/ biscuits and the cake was soooo good!
Very friendly staff ,very patient and kind towards my indecisive child.
Dog friendly.
One clean toilet suitable for disabled.
Would definitely come back.

It was fresh and plenty of different choices of sandwiches/wraps/homebakes/fruits/crisps. The price/quality is superb and such a friendly staff and cooperative and really thinking out of the box and making sure everything for our lunch was taken care off and making sure to cater for any dietary preferences (gluten free/vegan/vegetarian). They delivered to the venue in Elgin without any issues and really go out of their way. All the participants loved the fresh and very wide selection of items and we are already looking at booking the Little Lunchbox for our next event. We can definitely recommend this caterer. A big thank you to Kathleen and her team.Vegetarian options: We had plenty of choices included for people who wished to have a vegetarian option.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the options offered. I had planned a surprise 30th for my friend, managed to get the lounge (for free!) from start to finish the staff were such a big help, they couldn't do more if they tried. managed to decorate the evening beforehand which was sa massive help The lady working the bar on the night was soo nice and very friendly. when we arrived today to go and clean up I was surprised that they had already done it! everything that was left to be kept had been kept aside neatly for us to collect, cake etc they covered and stored for us. I just really can't thank or praise this place enough and to not charge either is soo unheard of now a days. We had about 22 people all together and it was perfect you could of had a lot more if your having a bigger party but for a smaller party it's perfect as the lounge looks full. perfect size dance floor as well. highly recommend!

34 High St, ElginPlace needs a good clean for a start. One of the coffee/tea machines was not working due to running out of milk, reported it but nothing was done for the hour I was there. Went to use the gents toilets, and whilst I was there a female staff member came in and signed that she had checked the toilets, which she didnt, just came in signed and left, place was filthy, and no toilet paper in either cubicle.

Johnstons of Elgin
Newmill, Scotland, ElginHigh end wool mill and shop. We did the mill tour and was taken round by a very informative guide showing us the whole process. Couldn't take photos due to customer confidentiality with the fabrics being made but we saw Burberry and channel fabrics being made start to finish. Lovely cafe in site, very high end products and fabrics. Tour well worth a go.
