I visited The Auld Alliance on my first night in Kirkcudbright. I had read the great reviews before I booked and agree that they are extremely well deserved. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and when settled at my table I was provided with water and lovely fresh bread. The menu is extremely varied and I settled for; crab, mussels and Parmesan tart, the sausages to follow and the raspberry crepe brûlée to finish. We went as a group of 5 adults, each selecting a different main & dessert from the menu. We loved the locally sourced ingredients and modern twist on Scottish food, their chef really knows his stuff! Thanks so much for a memorable evening, we all enjoyed our menu choices.

Our visit to the Auld Alliance was a memorable experience during our one night stay, passing through Kirkcudbright on our motorcycle tour of the area. Will, the proprietor and chef, and his team made us so welcome. The food was cooked with care, skill and excellent value, as an added bonus! We will certainly be back..
