The Bakehouse & Crannog
Old Quay, MallaigVery friendly service, great smells, and the custard we bought were top notch. They sell out daily by 11 or 12. Do not lag in getting here if you want the goods!

The Cornerstone
Davies Brae, MallaigWe enjoyed a good meal at Cornerstone. Although the dining room is quite ordinary it gives good views of the harbour and staff were friendly throughout. Our bhaji cauliflower starter with a dip was enjoyable as were the nicely cooked fish and chips. Too many peas though! As the small number of restaurants in Mallaig offer pretty similar menus Cornerstone would be a safe first choice.

Bloom & Graze Ltd
Davies Brae, Main Street, MallaigSuch a gem! Go just up the hill from the ferry terminal to Skye and this joyful nook has covered searing warm drinks and the best sausage pie I've had on my trip so far! Be sure to check out their graze boxes too- great for taking along as you explore this special corner of the world.

The Chlachain Inn
Davies Brae, MallaigAll in all really good, only things to improve, door slams at the entrance of the hotel upstairs and there the carpet needs to be taken out as it smells very unpleasant and smokey. Still was a very good authentic stay.

The Gathering & Lookout
Knoydart, InverieBeautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and the restaurant is fantastic. Cara very kindly opened up just for us on an evening, and we were treated to one of the best vegetarian meals we’ve had anywhere! Better food than the pub

The Silver Sands Restaurant
Morar Hotel, Columba Rd, MallaigWe recently visited this restaurant while staying in Mallaig. It’s hands down the best restaurant in town. The only restaurant where you can get Indian food and also International cuisines. We were very well served by Tuan and Akram. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting Mallaig.

The Terrace Restaurant
Annies Brae, MallaigFantastic food and very generous portions. Very filling. Beef and Ale pie was perfect, with steak literally falling apart as you try and put it on the fork. All food pipping hot. Cheesecake is to die for. Will certainly return when back in Mallaig

Jaffy's Fish & Chips Takeaway and Deli Shop
Station Rd, MallaigJust had a haddock and chips - it'd been a while since I've had a decent one. This was so fresh you could taste the sea on the fish. Also, batter was on point and so were the chips. Good portion size as well - just the right amount of chips.

Jac-O-bites Cafe Mallaig
Station Rd, MallaigThe food was cooked well but you can tell it wasn't high quality food items. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of tables. Clean tables but menu needed cleaning.

The Tea Garden
Station Rd, MallaigThe perfect lunch stop if you're taking a day trip to Mallaig. We'd taken the Scotrail from Fort William (which might just be the most beautiful train journey in the country) and arrived hungry, but unsure where to eat. Fortunately we found The Tea Garden. The fresh prawns were superb and tasted like they'd been caught that morning! Nice sandwiches and a good selection of local beers too. Very friendly staff and very quick service, which allowed us enough time to explore the town before taking the train back.
