Cafe Rendezvous
2 Agnew Cres, Wigtown, Newton StewartSuch a lovely lunch with my 15yr old daughter today.\nWe prebooked a table (pinged a message via their Facebook profile) as its a popular spot, with good reason!!\nIced milkshakes fully loaded with cream and mallows......yum!!\nMac n cheese for me was cheesy deliciousness. Tuna melt panini was a hit.\nBut this spot is not just about the food, lovely and welcoming plus clean.\nIts busy, but worth it!\nThe cakes looked wonderful but we were a little stuffed :-)

The Harbour Inn
18 South Cres, Garlieston, Newton StewartWe stayed in this pretty harbour village over Christmas. We had our 2 dogs with us, one is reactive so unable to have food one site. However, the warm welcome we got when we went to order a takeaway was really lovely. \nThe food was ready to collect at the arranged time and was very tasty wholesome pub food. Highly recommend. Thank You.

Brigend Pantry
78 Victoria St, Newton StewartLovely wee cafe. We were visiting the village and everyone was so friendly. The staff were so lovely and helpful and made a fuss of our dog. The cake cabinet was well stocked and everything looked sensational. Highly recommended to anyone. ?

St Ninians Tearoom
Saint Ninian's Tearoom, Isle of WhithornHave a caravan not too far away and fancied a visit. It was very quiet but we had a nice walk and went to tearoom for lunch. Very good choice of food and reasonable prices. \nI had soup and a roll and it was delicious. Plenty for kids and my daughter loved the milkshake. Cakes looked great too.

Brew Ha Ha
48 Victoria St, Newton StewartLadies were friendly, place was clean.
Cakes and coffee were really good ?
Although homemade burger was definitely far away of being homemade, I would avoid it.

The Riverbank Restaurant
Goods Ln, Newton StewartLovely place to stop and have a coffee or a full meal (which we had). Nice friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble.
The only downside, unfortunately, is you have to go up quite a few stairs as only the toilets are on the ground floor.

The Cree Inn
Creebridge, Newton StewartCalled in for a quick pint whist up from Manchester ended up staying all afternoon. The elderly gentleman David behind the bar was an absolute star. The blonde lady ( whose name I didn’t get) was a great host being friendly and welcoming. One of the locals was very friendly and I enjoyed a couple of good chats whist ordering from the bar . The restaurant side looked great but we didn’t have Tim to eat. There’s a small seating area outside some of it partially covered. If you want a pint at a friendly pub you won’t go wrong her ?

Dynasty
8 Albert St, Newton StewartWe had two mains, ribs, soup and spring rolls and fried rice. all the food was tasty, and not greasy at all. I'd say this was an above average Chinese meal, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was very cheap; less than 40 quid. They didn't have any noodle dishes on the day we were there, but plenty of other options.

Central Cafe
17 George St, Whithorn, Newton StewartWe stayed in the village of Whithorn during theast week of December/first week of January. Naturally we checked out the takeaway in the village. It was so good we kept going back. \n\nIt's a great takeaway, and there's two takeaways in the building, one that is a fish and chip shop and another that is called Curry Craze. that serves up fish and chips, Chinese, pizzas and indian food. It seems to do a bit of everything, and what it does do it does well. \n\nWe went quite a few times during our stay. My brother got fish and chips the first time we visited, I got a chicken chow mein and my dad got haggis and chips. \n\nWe got chips and homemade ice cream one day as a snack. My brother got the chicken wings one day. \n\nAnother time my dad and I shared a chicken pasanda curry with special rice and the poppadam and pickle tray while my brother had the chilli chicken. \n\nWe found the food to be really nice and high quality. The pickle tray was one of the best we've tasted and the chips from tge fish and chip shop are amazing. \n\nThe chicken in the chow mein was a little dry but very tasty and on our final night we asked for chips from the chip shop side of the building but we were given French fries instead which weren't as tasty as the chips we'd wanted. \n\nOverall though we had some great food and would recommend if you are staying in the area.

Pizza Royal
57 Victoria St, Newton StewartMixed reviews, but we thought we try it, and our food was great. Ordered 3 Pizzas, garlic bread and chips, and everything was nicely cooked, tasty and not at all greasy. We'll definitely go back. The young adult serving us was friendly and helpful, and the kitchen smells clean. Prices aren't cheap, but fairly standard nowadays, so it is great for a pizza night treat.

India Gate
9 Victoria St, Newton StewartThe food from India Gate is always lovely. Not greasy, fresh produce, really tasty, well cooked. For delivery they let themselves down in the details, and it's enough to be annoying, but not enough to ring them and demand they put it right. Last time we had no sauce with my vegetable biryani, so I just ate rice. This time we ordered 2 lots of 2 poppadoms and 4 pickles. We got 1 mango chutney, 1 red onion, 7 (seven) tubs of raita, and just 2 poppadoms. We have enough raita to bathe in, and 2 poppadoms between 4 people. Send all the food we order and it would be 5 stars.
