The Dean Tavern
80 Main St, Newtongrange, DalkeithDidn't have food but it looked lovely when it was being served to other tables. (Pizza looked gorgeous). Popped by for a friend's birthday. The staff were all lovely but the French lass particularly stood out. She was brilliant. Friendly and very welcoming. Beer garden has a great view of a park over the road. Definitely will be back.

The Dungeon Restaurant
Dalhousie castle hotel, BonnyriggAn impeccable evening for my wife and I! The ambience was cosy. The service personable. And the food beyond delicious. I highly recommend the 5-course banquet. This resturant deserves patrons from well beyond hotel guests!!

Lord of the Noodles
Bryans Corner, Newtongrange, DalkeithI recently ordered from this Chinese takeaway and was genuinely impressed. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and packed with flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was perfectly crispy, the chow mein was rich and well-seasoned, and the vegetable spring rolls were light and crunchy, not greasy at all. Portions were generous for the price, and everything tasted fresh, not like it had been sitting around. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the dishes are made with care.
The staff were polite and friendly, and ordering over the phone was quick and easy. Definitely my go-to for Chinese from now on.

The Orangery Restaurant
Dalhousie castle hotel, BonnyriggDelightful lunch in a gorgeous, light-filled sun room. We booked lunch here after our falconry experience, and we all enjoyed our sandwiches and lemonades. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food despite the reviews.
