The Stack Restaurant and Bar

The Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant
Harbour, Old Pier, StonehavenHad a delicious meal at The Tollbooth. Our server Lewis was great - helpful in recommending dishes and he was very knowledgeable (and seemed to enjoy his job!). The food itself was extremely tasty, fresh fish with well balanced and complementary accompaniments. Excellent price point for the quality of the food. Would recommend 100% if you’re a fan of fish - we might even go back whilst we’re still away on holiday!

The Market Bar
4 Market Ln, StonehavenI went into this place while passing by because all the cafes were closed, but it is a pub with a completely local atmosphere.
There is no separate menu, so you can order whatever beer or liquor you want, and the staff is very friendly. Beer is also cheap!
It's pet friendly, so you can see cute dogs, and the bathroom inside is very clean.
Since you're in Scotland, be sure to try Tennent's. It is poured into a cute special cup

60 Allardice St, StonehavenExcellent food. Well spiced. Wonderful and caring service. The value is great, with the meal for two at around £35. We ordered some dishes off the chefs special menu. I would recommend this as the spices are unique and more expressive than many comparable restaurants. I would definitely return to this excellent restaurant.

32 Evan St, StonehavenThe Indian restaurant offered excellent cuisine. The ambience is relatively simple but the menu was lavish and tasted excellent. We have rarely experienced better Indian cuisine. After a relatively short time, the friendly waiter served us our food. The prices were okay. The restaurant is quite close to Stonhaven town square. There are also paid parking spaces there. It's a good idea to take a stroll through the city and to the beach. In any case, you should also visit the nearby Dunnottar CastleWheelchair accessibility: Is possible

The Ship Inn, Stonehaven
5 Shorehead, StonehavenWe had an afternoon in the bar, an evening meal, a night's accommodation and the included breakfast and this is how hospitality should be done. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was given generously and easily.

Molly's Café Bar
The Promenade, StonehavenWent in for a Tea/Coffee for lunch. I had the Tuna toasty melt and my friend had a cheesy toasty. It was more than I expected and it was very filling. Tasted and presented very well, maybe a bit too much cheese for me. Very nice though.

10 Barclay St, StonehavenI was there alone on Thursday the 29th and the guy at the bar was super nice and friendly. Despite not understanding the Scottish accent very much, I really enjoyed the beers I tried and the hospitality of the people who chatted with me in this place. Super recommended.

Tandoori Haven Restaurant

There was a 20 minute wait, which I thought was fine. Had there been a nice welcome, or even any welcome, this would have been a 5 star review. A smile or a hello goes a long way.

Kirktown Restaurant
Kirkton of Fetteresso, StonehavenHad a yummy lunch here with my friend and son yesterday. Delicious food and great service. Jack is honestly so nice, welcoming, great with kids and always serves you with a smile. Restaurant is lovely and my son also had great fun in the park too. 28 Market Sq, StonehavenJust wanted to share my thoughts regarding our two fish suppers purchased tonight. We were absolutely delighted with the quality in taste and size of the fish, the chips were cooked to perfection. Other local fish and chips are fine but tend to use a different batter/oil, their chips appear bland and undercooked compared with Meydan. Will definitely be back, keep up the good frying guys.

Highly recommend this as a great place to stay in a bit so large, but large enough city on the east coast of Scotland

New Taste
100 Brickfield Rd, StonehavenWe’ve been ordering from New Taste Chinese once or twice a month for some time now, and it never disappoints. The food always arrives piping hot, fresh, and full of flavour — exactly what you want from a good Chinese takeaway.
The rib dishes are particularly outstanding — consistently tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. You can really taste the difference in quality here compared to your average local takeaway.
Delivery is usually prompt, and the team are first class — polite, efficient, and always deserving of a good tip, which we’re happy to give. The only slight downside is that they tend not to deliver outside Stonehaven when they’re busy, which is understandable but a bit of a shame if you live just beyond the boundary.
That said, it’s still our go-to for Chinese food in the area. Highly recommended.

2 Barclay St, StonehavenFirst thing to remember is they don’t accept card payments. Go prepared with cash or pay for your order online using their website. It will cost you more doing it that way though. Food is nice and all our dishes were cooked well and tasted nice. Really polite service and easy to park nearby to collect. Portions are average sized and felt each dish was priced fairly.
