Hanning Rd, IlminsterOutstanding public house near Ilminster. The staff are very friendly,knowledgeable and are polite and welcoming. The food is always good and very good value and they have a great selection of beer and ciders together with a great selection of good quality wines. They have a lovely beer garden at the rear of the property totally enclosed all the rooms are spacious very clean and of the highest quality. I would highly recommend this pub to anybody travelling to the West Country.

Horton Manor, Horton Cross, IlminsterVery good. Well set up for wheelchair access. The disabled parking bays are sensibly located and ramps and access to the cafe and the disabled loo all work well. Coffee good too!

The Bell at Broadway
Broadway Rd, Broadway, IlminsterThis review it mainly for the pub. We spent Friday and Saturday night there. It is a really nicely decorated space. Very cosy. You can see their big pizza oven and a chef preparing food. We were welcomed by lovely Isa who went over the menu with us, and was funny and helpful. We were also served by Sam, who was equally friendly and took our question about the menu seriously and was happy to help us. They were both highlights of our visit. Both nights, we were excited to chat to them and hear their recommendations. I wish more businesses had staff like them, truly making a visit special. Thank you for lovely time.
We had pizza and incredible burger first night, and pasta and customised veggie dish the second night. All very nice ?? you could tell it was fresh and prepared from good ingredients.

Harts Cl, IlminsterWe booked at short notice for Christmas Day Lunch, after plans had to change to accomodate elderly relatives in different locations. Kerry (the Manager) was extremely helpful on the phone and with follow-up e-mails. We received a warm welcome on arrival, and food was bought out promptly. Staff were helpful and festive, and very kind towards my elderly father-in-law who has dementia. Comparing the cost with other Christmas Day providers and the service we received, we felt it was very good value for money.

The breakfast wraps were fresh hot and very tasty.

Sweet Surprise

Inclusion at its’ finest. Could not resist buying this lovely hippo made by one of the young people there. Horace just had to come home with me, for my Grandson! ♥️

The New Inn
Cudworth Road, Dowlish Wake, IlminsterWhat a beautiful little village. Very quiet and the locals are very friendly.
Nicky the landlady was exceptional, very warm, jolly and friendly on our arrival. Nothing was to much effort. We loved taking part in the local quiz night which takes part on the first sunday of the month.
Look forward to staying again one day.

6 West St, IlminsterFirst night of holiday. After the long drive no one wanted to cook so we all decided on Fish and chips. Quick search on maps and this one came up highly rated. Parked in the car park opposite and joined the long queue. ordering was quick and easy and given a number. Fish was cooked to order so it was lovely and fresh. Chips were great and a decent portion size for large. The wait was not too long. Would absolutely recommend and if ever in the vicinity would make the trip to try them again.

4A Ditton St, IlminsterWe came down from Cardiff to visit family in Chard and we stopped by this nice spot in Ilminster. It’s a halal place with lovely staff who gave great recommendations. The chicken tikka and lamb biryani were both delicious, served with tadka daal and poppadoms. The atmosphere was really nice—great music, warm lighting, and a vibrant bar area. Takeaway was ready in under 10 minutes, with cutlery provided too! The staff who served us were Bangladeshi and they were so excited to know we were Bangladeshi too!

Lottie's Snack Pod
A358, ChardLotties is awesome. All orders are cooked fresh, good selection of food. Customer service is 10/10. The big winner for me is although this is a road-side Snack Shack Lottie takes both Cash AND CARDS! I find this great as I often don't have any cash on me.
Parking: Lottie is in a large lay-by well clear of the main road. Plenty of room to park up and the lay-by is nice an shady on a hot sunny day.
Wheelchair accessibility: Lotties is in a large Lay-by well off of the main road. No steps, no obstructions.

12 Silver St, IlminsterWe've visited twice recently, and highly recommend it. The poppadoms & chutneys are moreish. I've had the butter chicken on one visit, and chicken tandoori on a different visit. My husband has said, it's the best chicken tikka massala ever. We've taken our own bottle of red wine on both occasions, being BYO. The service is great too. Absolutely worth a visit.

“Hands down the best fish and chips in town! The fish is always fresh with really light, crispy batter and the chips are spot on – proper old-school chippy style. Portions are generous and good value too.
The team are always friendly and make you feel welcome, and the place is clean and well looked after. I’ve tried a few chip shops around Somerset and this one is easily the top pick. If you’re in Ilminster, you won’t be disappointed!”

The food was fresh, well-prepared, and there was a good variety to choose from. Plenty of tables to sit and have the meal. Service was quick, making it convenient for a grab-and-go meal while we were in the area. Overall, it was an easy and hassle-free stop.

19 West St, IlminsterWanted to share our experience due to the mixed reviews for this place (now called China Garden!) We’ve ordered from here twice now and had great food both times. As a vegan, I really appreciated the great veggie selection on the menu and the added bonus of salt and pepper tofu (not on the menu but kindly made for us both times!). The portion sizes are good, the price is reasonable and the wait time for collection was just 15 minutes, so super quick, fresh and hot food. The service was fabulous with some freebies added too. We will be back soon. In short - please don’t be put off by earlier reviews when the business was under different management!

Price better most service stations Convenient location with free parking and toilets. There is plenty of seating and a couple of benches outside.
