Wells Rd, Wookey, WellsWent to this lovely country pub for a group lunch as we were meeting friends from the local area. Had a gorgeous lunch and it was very reasonably priced. Hosts were lovely people and couldn't do enough for us.

Wookey Hub
Top Shop, High St, Wookey, WellsThis is one of the finest hidden gems Somerset has to offer! Nestled in the gorgeous village of Wookey, the Wookey Hub clearly prides itself on serving the community, and doing it fairly. My partner and I spent well over an hour browsing some excellent local produce in the shop, followed by one of the finest full English breakfasts I've ever had. The shocker was that NOTHING was overpriced, and we came away with a bag full of stuff, including a fabulous Christmas wreath, made by a very talented person in the village. They do home deliveries too and, as we're fairly local (Wells), we'll be giving that a go. They also do packageless sales of things like pasta, washing up liquid, milk etc. Oh, and if you like mustard, they sell a wholegrain one made with cider in Wedmore (a few miles away) - it's glorious!

Ring O' Bells Wookey
High St, Wookey, WellsBeen a Local here for 25 years. Traditional historic pub with 3ft thick buttressed stone walls (served its first pint in 1487 as an Almshouse to the Wells Bishops Palace- no, I wasn't there!), Great menu and real ales all week, but an exceptional choice for Sunday Lunch. Chefs Alex, Carl and their kitchen and bar team produce a selection of meats + veggie options with all the trimmings. And I do mean ALL the trimmings - suggest you skip breakfast! Very competively priced too. Sun-drenched summer afternoons/evenings watching Wookey life go by on the front terrace are unforgettable.

Burcott Inn
Wookey Rd, Wookey, WellsWhat an incredible find…. Whilst out walking our dog we stumbled upon this beautiful pub. Friendly welcome, wonderful selection of beers and wine & seriously the best Pork pies, Sausage Rolls & scotch egg we’ve ever tasted…. We didn’t have time to experience their menu but anticipate that it would be just as delicious ?
