“Excellent country pub which feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Simple country decor inside (it was a dark cold November evening when we visited, so didn't venture outside much, apart from the trip to the toilets). Real ales served on gravity, and a range of proper ciders are available. Food is hearty and wholesome, including some spectacularly strong cheese and onion rolls and warming macaroni cheese. Two rooms, the 'back room' was host to a number of local folk/Irish musicians on our visit, apparently a regular occurrence. Wished we had been able to stay longer.”

“We came in twice over our caravan weekend at the nearby site: At first glance it looks like the sort of local's pub where visitors won't be welcomed, but don't worry - the welcome was excellent, as was the food and the atmosphere. We had a table right by one of the fires, and even though the pub was packed our food came quickly and was well made.If we are in the area we will definitely eat here again.”
