Stopped in for a Christmas drink with work colleagues. Staff behind the bar were friendly and accommodating of our groups needs, and there was a decent atmosphere all round. It's not a huge place, so expect for it to be "cosy" at busy times. Didn't eat so can't speak for that, but good range of ales!
Beautifully situated and located in the centre of wells. Wonderful views of the cathedral, the pub and hotel has a lot of history to it. The penn bar has a nice old style decor and is very well maintained. The food menu is nice and is good value. I had the beef stew which was cooked well, decent sized portions. It has specials on and a decent selection of spirits, house ales, ciders and lagers. There are snug seating areas which make your experience there comfortable and enjoyable....read full review
Superb pub, restaurant and guest rooms situated in the heart of Wells. The food is fantastic, there is an excellent range of drinks, superb customer service. For fans of the film Hot Fuzz this is the pub from the film. Definitely worth visiting.
