Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Patient and attentive staff. Great selection of beers and food. The lunch menu was great value and ample portions. Perhaps I shouldn’t have had a starter though because I couldn’t finish my roast turkey it came with so many accompaniments : roasties, stuffing, Yorkshire pud, braised cabbage and a side of cauliflower cheese but at £17 for a starter and a main I just couldn’t resist. It’s just a shame my eyes were bigger than my belly!

Called in here many months ago after a walk with my friend's unruly, adopted dog. The lady in charge was happy for us to sit in the bar area and further to let the dog lie on the window seating, on my friends scarf. We had a selection of bites and the food was delicious. I believe the pub may have been taken over now but hopefully the lovely lady who looked after us is still employed there.

Just been for Sunday lunch for my dads birthday , and what a lovely time we all had. Welcomed by owners of pub, selected seats, and offered drinks and menus straight away. We all opted for the roast beef, something I don’t cook at home because it’s too much like hard work on a Sunday for me ? Also why cook when you can have an amazing lunch cooked for you?
