From the moment we arrived, the service from Tom and Shane was warm, friendly, and attentive — they really made us feel welcome.\n\nIt was a cold day and all we wanted was a nice pub with a wood fire… and we got our wish. We couldn’t believe it ?. The atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for — cosy, welcoming, and just perfect.\n\nThe food, cooked by chef Glenn, was outstanding. The chicken parmigiana was honestly out of this world — perfectly cooked and so full of flavour. My partner had the scallops and crab starter, which was fresh and beautifully prepared, followed by the fish pie that was easily another 5-star dish.\n\nI started with the chicken tikka skewer; at first glance I thought it might be a little dry, but I was pleasantly surprised — it was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour. Absolutely delicious!\n\nEverything we tried was exceptional, and the whole experience made for the perfect pub visit. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

1 High St, BansteadAlways a good vibe, consistently excellent food and always great service. The interior is also well set out and decorated seasonally, and the bathrooms are always clean. My family and I go here fortnightly at the very least because my kids love it so much, and eat every bite, and my wife and I enjoy the food and service.\nThey also provide kids menus and colouring.\nAlso, using the app it's easy to quickly pay, or split a bill, and leave if the kids have finished their meal and start getting bored. It's a little thing, but it's a + for us.\nWould thoroughly recommend, especially for young families.

I was blown away with how good the food was.
It's such a shame on the lady that served us. Very miserable and not friendly or polite. The other lady that brought our food was lovely.
I was going to knock a star off but because the food was that great. I didn't want to do that.
We will be back for the food. And hopefully better service tomorrow. That's how much I enjoyed the food!

The food was delicious, with a great variety to choose from, all served piping hot and full of flavor. 45 High St, BansteadAte here for (adult) family gathering on a weeknight, and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely - well-cooked, tasty and well-presented without being pretentious. We had sharing platters followed by mains of veal, chicken, salmon & liver; all the meat was tender and perfectly cooked, and accompaniments were were tasty. Portions were generous but not excessive. Desserts were also very good. The service was efficient, and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come here again.

New owners took over about 8 months ago and the fish and chips are definitely the best in this area. Fish portion sizes are great and the chips are absolutely delicious.

13 Nork Way, Banstead1st visit to this lovely Indian restaurant. The food was amazing. For starters, we had garlic mushrooms and vegetable samosa. For the main, I had the garlic lamb curry, and my partner had a vegetable curry and rice. Both were very tasty. The staff we very friendly but sadly the restaurant is closing on 19th May, they will still be offering takeaway and a delivery service but if you can support a local restaurant YOU MUST try this one. I will definitely be having a takeaway from them in the future. I wish them well, and good luck in the future!!

1 Rectory Ln, BansteadWe've been going to this place for a long, long time 15+ years or more. The only issues we've ever had was having to wait (but they would tell you pretty accurately 15/30/60 mins) before you even make the order. I still use the old 1st gen menu they produced, which the lady always finds funny. We usually have the same, prawns in rice, spring veg, egg fry rice, special fry rice and sweet and sour chicken. In all the years we've been going there, the issues with the food (usually rice) have been minimum and you could count on one hand.
I've had other Chinese when visiting friends and can honestly say some of those pork/chicken in batter has had more fat/grisle than meat in them.
Here, the pork/chicken balls in batter have been so clean for aslong as I can remember.
I think it's fair to say the owners have struggled with online deliveries, before companies started doing home delivery you couldn't get in this place as it was so busy. They haven't changed, so why not just go down there.

The staff are always very welcoming and all the drinks or food that we've had (admittedly only for 'elevenses') has been great. Personally I love their hot chocolate! Seating is basic, but comfy, and the prices are extremely good. There is a nice clean toilet customers can use. If you need Birthday or other cards, there is a small collection of them on the stand by the counter. If you are in need of spiritual guidance or help, there is sometimes someone there who can talk you through your problems and help you. You can tell the café is popular by the number of people who visit. If you want a no frills café but with good food, this is the place to go.

We came back to England for a visit and one thing definitely on our list was to go to Lavender Kitchen because we absolutely love their lasagna! It was such a joy to visit with the owners. We got free NHS coffee’s for our research team providing our ID badges. We were served by the lovely Lily and Izzy, a very warm welcome, smiles on their faces and 10 very happy ( nurses, Dr’s and specimen collectors) back in the office after a quick coffee run, thank you Starbucks ?
