Haven’t visited Red Lion for a number of years as the standard had dropped but decided to give it a chance again and we were not disappointed- a wonderful evening great service and staff so pleasant, really nice live music and we decided to have dinner - the whitebait was awesome and great value. We will return for sure.

Mid-week lunch for 3. Dining and bar areas spotlessly clean (as were the toilets). Good choices on the menu, just a few things not available (hence one dropped star). Service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Very enjoyable food choices though potato and leek soup would have benefited from more leek. Butty Bach on draft, excellent. Will be happy to repeat this experience.

We booked the red lion for celebration for 36 people. Communication before the event was brill, Abbie went out of her way to check we were happy with everything and to take orders before our meal, accommodating requests not even on the menu. On arrival, Abbie introduced herself and all the staff who would be serving us that night.
