Mushy peas on a roast dinner was actually a nice surprise. Will defo come again.

Mulberry Bush Wholefoods
2 Bridge St, LampeterI ate here after reading recommendations on another site & was happy I did. The cafe is located upstairs & you have to walk through the shop to get to the stairs at the back, though food is ordered at the counter downstairs. I was served by a very friendly lady who makes the food herself & she was helpful in advising me of suitable options for my dietary restrictions (I am vegan & gluten intolerant, so difficult to cater for). I had the lasagne & a large salad, all of which were tasty. However, what I liked best was the welcoming atmosphere & the friendliness of the staff. I recommend eating here

10 Bridge St, LampeterIt is a take away place so no real note for ambiance. Though it seems a cold place to wait in. Great food. Bangladesh owner. I asked him if the cuisine is from north or south, he told me that there is no difference!! I think that it is wrong. Different flavors if you are from the north or south India. I ordered chicken Masala and lemon rice and a nan. It was good, not fancy. Hence 4 stars.

Conti's Cafe
5 Harford Square, LampeterLovely cafe to visit. We had sandwiches that were absolutely delicious. The sandwich came with a lovely side salad and crisps. We were served quickly and the waitress was lovely. We also used the toilets and they were spotless and beautifully decorated. I highly recommend this lovely, friendly cafe.

Oscar’s Den
College St, LampeterStopped by Oscar’s Den while visiting Wales and couldn’t have felt more welcome. The staff were lovely, greeting us with big smiles and even giving our daughter a lollipop and drink which made her day. They happily adjusted the menu for us with no fuss, and the food was delicious , great quality, big portions and really reasonably priced too. If you’re from out of town and not sure where to go, this is definitely the place. We’ll 100% be back next time we’re in the area!

Service was a little disorganised and the staff somewhat flustered but it didn't take anything away from the experience, we just waited patiently until they were ready.

The Stables @ The Royal Oak Hotel
38 High St, LampeterA very welcoming pub with rooms. Very good value. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided in the room with a kettle. We had a smallish room at the back of the hotel, with a good shower. The pub offers some meals. No parking however we arrived on Saturday night and were able to park in the street until Monday morning. The clientele were noisy til closing time.

8 College St, LampeterWe dined in at this restaurant whilst on holiday in the area. I am vegan & the staff were accommodating in adapting some dishes to my needs which was greatly appreciated. My food was good but not outstanding, but I am somewhat spoiled because I live in an area with some very authentic South Asian restaurants. The portion sizes were also smaller than comparable restaurants. However, my family members said their food was delicious. It didn't detract from the experience but the beaten up chairs should be replaced. The staff were polite but not overly attentive & when we were given our bill nobody came to take payment despite us trying to get their attention, so we paid on our way out

13 Bridge St, LampeterTake away. Ordered Spicy Kung Pao chicken. I was disappointed because they cooked with tomato sauce. Not original receipt at all. Looks like they cook Welsh style!! Also I got a hot and sour soup and they put green peas!! Good portion but not as tasty as I would expect.

17 High St, LampeterAmazing food! Was actually recommended to go to the Chinese restaurant just down the road to this one, however that was shut when we went so we opted for this. It was the best decision ever! Food was 10/10, price is good, the young boy provided good customer service. This made out trip to wales/snowdon worth it!
