The Goat Hotel
High St, Llanfair Caereinion, WelshpoolWe broke down at about 6PM in Welshpool in the snow, and as the RAC were hopeless, we decided to have supper and stay the night in the Goat in the centre of Welshpool, which was one of the more charming romantic lovely things I've done in my life. It had a lovely open fire, delicious food, welcoming host, hostess, and staff, and we felt rather like we were in something between Nania and Dick Turpin. The room was lovely and clean, and very good value indeed and saved our bacon! We would otherwise been sleeping in the car! Eeeeek! Thank you The Goat for a rescue and delightful experience

The Red Lion
Broad St, Llanfair Caereinion, WelshpoolWe travelled from North Wales and decided to stop here before our final desijtnation. Good desicion. We had the sunday roast, one with pork the other chicken. Large, well cooked portions. One sweet of chocolate pudding with sauce and two scoops of ice cream. Also very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent value for money with large portions. Worth a visit if you are travelling through.

The Black Lion
Parsons Bank, Llanfair Caereinion, WelshpoolMade to feel welcome late on a Monday evening when other pubs in the area weren’t very accommodating with a dog. Food was the nicest pub food I’ve had in a while! Would recommend the hunters chicken and chicken in whiskey & peppercorn sauce, both were lovely! Thanks to the staff on shift this evening ?
