Crispy roast potatoes with fluffy insides, home made Yorkshire's , quality meat and a nice range of perfectly cooked vegetables and a big jug of gravy. Roast dinner like it should be. Lovely friendly staff and great service.

Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant
76 High St, SteyningWe had such a great evening, we wish we lived closer to this great local restaurant. Only had a one night stay whilst walking the South Downs Way and Mamma Mia lived up to its high google reviews. Did the simple things exceptionally well. Best deep fried courgette and parmigiana I've ever had. Warm welcoming owners. I can highly recommend.

130 High St, SteyningWhat a lovely surprise… a traditional market town pub offering an excellent Sunday roast that properly hits the spot. Tasty tender lamb, fluffy and crisp Yorkshire pud, yummy veg and lashings of gravy. All for several quid under a twenty.\nService was prompt, professional and friendly.

We were recommended it by the owner of the Artisan Bakehouse where we were staying for the weekend. \nAs soon as we walked in the door we were made very welcome by Sarah, the owner , and her husband the chef .\nIt was a lovely menu, with some delicious French favourites on . Coming from London , I can’t believe how much value for money it was .\nThe fillet of beef with mustard , and the boeuf Bourgogne melted in you mouth . You could have really thought you were in France. I only wish little restaurant was one of my locals. \nThere was a good but small selection of wines . All were very nice, and you are offered to try before you buy, if you can’t decide. \nIf you are in the area, do book and give it a try.

20 Church St, SteyningTraditional bakers in Church Street. Well known to and patronised by locals.
Superb traditional bread and cakes. A step back in time in the best way.
Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
It's a shame they are down to the One shop now which is well worth seeking out.
Much better quality and value than the chain bakery on the High Street.

High St, Upper Beeding, SteyningFound this place whilst waiting for a bus back to Shoreham. Nicest Subway I have ever visited. Good welcome, spotless premises. I had my favourite meatball sub and a very decent cappuccino. The sub was hot and flavourful. It was so nice to discover this branch as I often go for walks in the countryside but do get hungry, and whilst a pub lunch is very nice when you have the time, this really hits the spot. The gentleman serving was friendly and kind: don’t think I have ever been asked previously in a fast food place whether I enjoyed my food and was there anything else. Will visit again soon and recommend to other walkers.

The Castle Inn Hotel
The St, SteyningPopped in for lunch after a lovely dog walk along the river. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We chose two courses from the lunch menu which was absolutely divine. I would recommend the food as it was first class. Will be coming again soon.

The White Horse Smokehouse & Grill
23 High St, SteyningFirst time we have visited and went in for lunch. Welcome was warm and the food gorgeous. We had garlic bread, a burger, Fish and chips and onion rings. A decent portion of Garlic Bread, soft and flaky fish, homemade burger and scrumptious chips. Definitely going on our favourite pub list!
