Absolutely delicious, well priced menu (even more so when you consider the touristy location). The staff were incredibly welcoming despite being really busy on a Monday lunch. Thoroughly recommend this pub, it’s a gem!
This is a great pub - whilst visiting to see the stones, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow, I went to the Red Lion three times. It's cosy, warm and the staff are very friendly. I ate there, and the food was very good. I also liked that there's no rush for the table, you get time to enjoy the courses, reflect in between or go out for a vape/smoke - not like many places where staff hover, like they're desperate for the table. Very nice pub, I went for breakfast and saw the signs about putting your reg into the machine. As they were yet to open I asked someone working outside first and he confirmed the opening time, I was able to go for a little walk among the stones first. Very friendly, good and reasonably priced food.No where else opens in Avebury before 10 to even get a coffee. Cheerful fire. Would certainly go again
