This was my last stop during my day-long hike around the Vale of Pewsey. Lodged within a village that time clearly forgot, where every house is thatched and the pub established in the 17th century (long before the country I grew up in was colonised), this place is an incredible oasis. We had Sunday lunch here last week. Friendly service and great food at a fair price. I would have loved to have tried one of their desserts but had no room, partly because I ordered the cauliflower cheese as an extra and it was honestly the best I have ever had. Beautiful pub in a beautiful village setting.

Good menu, very economically priced. Friendly service and pleasantish atmosphere on a Wednesday lunchtime. But the coffee machine wasn't working (although we were offered instant).
