A really welcoming pub. Just what myself and my dog needed after a fabulous 5+ mile autumnal circular walk around the twin peaks of Bowsey Hill and Ashley Hill. Loads of longer and shorter routes easily constructed from the large network of footpaths north and south of the pub. Inside, the pub was clean, warm, bright and very dog friendly with plenty of dog water bowls, inside and out. Good walking route stop and also good cycling stop if doing route 4. Have to wait for food as it's done fresh .Inches cider highly recommended! Garden good for holding bikes while you rest!

Our first visit since it reopened. Food menu is not extensive but the food was well prepared at reasonable prices served by friendly/helpful staff. Sadly, there is nothing cosy about the dining room which feels a bit stark with harsh acoustics as no soft furnishings to absorb noise. It seems popular with locals as has a pool table & sport TV at the front & dining area slightly segregated.
