Disappointing service. It was obvious from the outset that the girl serving us did not want to be there. We sat for 20 mins with empty plates on our table and these did not get cleared until the restaurant manager did it himself - she was just drifting around in a world of her own. Dined with my wife here for the first time. Rather disappointed compared to other Rick Stein restaurants. Unattended reception. Waitress said she would address a request to adjust an incorrect table setting. , but didn’t do so. Most importantly, of the three scallops (£14.95) for starter, one was drowned in salt and the others rather rubbery and tasteless. We asked the waitress to find out why and mention it to the kitchen. Came here for Sunday lunch. We had the fish and chips which were fabulous and local sausages. Great service. The restaurant was very busy and had a great feel. Dog friendly too which for us was a bonus. Will come back on our holiday next year.
